Uggh, I want to rent if before my birthday because I'm DYING to play it. Everyone at my school wants it, too. I'm going to try the better rental store today (I went to the other one yesterday and they didn't have any copies left).

Target/Wal-Marts are good places to look in my town. when every where else is sold out. Check Target's little store availability thingie online.

I also don't get why everything is now in spanish and french on the back of the box. I mean it's already full halfway with all the damn warnings, now they get seven sentences that don't relate to talk about the game. I am not kidding you.

no I really only play video games on the weekends if its on a school day it'll be less then a hour
and if the game is going to get boring then its a waste of what little time I have
I'm not wasting money on something that will waste my time
in this case "time is money"

It all depends on if you have friends to play it with. If you're just gonna get it and play by yourself, don't bother.

well its really for family
because me and my friends go outside even if its raining
and family only comes down like once every 2 months
so basically if I'm bored I would play but since you say its not good without other people then I won't get it

Played it more today. Disappointed, but I like a lot of the new things. I'll go into depth after more play time.

Not the worst in the series, but not the best.

I rented it, it's awesome so far. I've only played the Goomba board, Boo board, and the Train one.

It's nice that some of the mini games just use the Face buttons, but I actually like the motion sensitive games better.

I like how all the boards are pretty different, the spaces, the perspective, and how they work, it makes it much more interesting than the gamecube ones

IGN Wii didn't like it.

I don't know...I think i'll pass

Well, looks like the only thing that made they hate they game entirely is the lack for widescreen mode.

Read the review more carefully!
QUOTE
Developer Hudson Soft had the chance to recreate or at the very least improve the franchise by taking advantage of the Wii remote, but Mario Party 8 misuses the controller as regularly as it capitalizes on it. The end result is a title that feels like a rushed GameCube project with last-minute Wii controls.
QUOTE
The game's graphics on a whole are only barely adequate on a first-generation GameCube affair, and yet many of the boards are interrupted by framerate dips all the same.
QUOTE
The unnecessary storyline tidbits are related in slow-moving text bubbles, which can at least be sped up, and the general flow of board play is slow and filled with constant and pointless text interruptions. You will find yourself tapping the Wii remote's A button at machine-gun speeds, but it'll do you no good.
QUOTE
You can play the single-player affair, of course, but it grows tedious and boring in a matter of minutes because the satisfaction of besting friends is simply not there.

I'm not playing it and here is why:

I have ALWAYS been against playing a videogame where you swing the remote around like a monkey flinging it's own poo...
and that is EXACTLY what you'd have to do in a mini-game thing like this...
I like the Mario Party Series it could be fun, but I'm a button masher to my core and I'll not look the fool by swining my controller around!

Have you played TP? The sword swinging command looks poo-flingish, if you have that kind of imagination. There are some old fashioned mini-games in Mario Party 8, where all you have do to do is button-mash and maybe tilt the controller sideways. And why did you even buy the Wii if you weren't expecting a bit of poo flinging? Most actions can look like that if you think that way. I suggest you at least try it, instead of saying "Needs more button." and dropping it.

[End rant]

Any of you guys played Pumper Cars? I haven't even been able to start it. I hold down A+B make the controller face me, swing down in a circular motion, nothing. I randomly wiggle it around, nothing. I hold it up to fist and threaten it, nothing.
