for some reason the item thats suppposed to be spawning is not spawning.

i don't know s*** about gml but:

current_time=0.001 mod room_speed=10

shouldn't the equal signs be asterisks

I'm not quite sure what it is, but did you remember to close all the parentheses in whatever code came before that part? Maybe, in some part of the code before that, there's a ( before something but not a ) after it.

You should add a semicolon ( ; ) to the very end. Maybe that's what's wrong, but I'm not sure.

EDIT: Also, I don't know if this has anything to do with it either, but you could check your spelling as well (is it really spelled like "apoclapse_shroom"?).
