I have submitted a game called Super Mario Fusion. This is the sequel to it, unfortunately scrapped. It was made not intended to be Super Mario Fusion 2, and so it is very different, plus more linear.

Features:
? blocks
Free coins
Brick blocks
Note blocks
Conveyer belt*
Portal system
Pipes
Pow block
YI Enlarge block
YI Disappear block
On-off block*
Chomps destroy ground*
Ravens
Items

*Not in scrapped demo

Enemies
Shyguy
Goomba
Koopa
Parakoopa*
Spiny
Podoboo*
Pirahna Plant
Beezos*
Ninji
Jumping Pirahna
Muncher*
Thwomp
Pokey
Chomp
Raven
Wario was planned to be fought, but he just needs to be found, so don't be surprised when there IS NO epic battle with him

*Not in scrapped demo

Levels
Goomba Bay- A watery levels with boots
Dream Mountain/The Sky- A mountain with many YI/SMB2 features, and the rainbow sky houses a fortress of Wario
Desert- Unfinished level with a pipe maze and block maze

Story
Scrapped, it lacks a story (I planned to put that in last)

I am working on a different version of SMF2, which will be more like Super Mario Fusion, but I would like some feedback about this game so I can see what to do with my newer SMF2.

This is acctually really fun! I have one complaint, though. I have always hated the 16 bit SMB2 Mario sprite, and since pretty much everything else is SMB3, why not have Mario be SMB3? Also, please make the blue on the outside of the portals transparent. Also, please continue on this! It shouldn't have been scrapped.

You should make it so that you can get the coin when you hit the block.

Putting the blue outside the portals as transparent does not look right. The portal is 32-bit. (I could not find a 16-bit one) And do you know about the timestopping veggie? I put it in, so you can go on exploring with no time limit.

Oh, I would also like you to express your likes and dislikes about Super Mario Fusion compared to this game, because my sequel may be more like one or the other. (I especially have to choose between hammer and veggie throwing)

If you haven't played it, here is the attachment.

Even with the boots?

I'm about to start working on the other version of Super Mario Fusion 2, but I need a comparison between SMF and SMF2.

-Is the time limit good?
-What is better, hammer or veggie throwing?
-Is the bigger screen in SMF or the small screen in SMF2 better.
-Which game has better level design?

And anything ELSE you can come up with. ph34r.gif

Veggie throw would be better, also raise Mario's normal jump height a bit. I found myself between two pipes unable to jump back up

Hmm....
I never like time limits, especialy with this game, since of course, the main thing is still exploring.
I like veggies better, but try using something other than SMB2 16-bit and 16-bit SMB graphics.(It's okay to use the same toad) And having tasks is nice, but try to make more of an award, unless the task is minor or required anyway.
A bigger window size is better.
SMF's levels, secret wise, are designed better, but this SMF2's levels are more straitforward, feeling more like a mario game.
But great job on this, though you could make 2 different SMF2's or SMF 3 of course.

Thank you. This is the kind of comment that I actually started the topic for! If anybody has differing opinions, please mention them. And time limits will NOT be used, ever again in any exploring game by me. And there IS the possibility that I will continue this. Also, I have a neat idea. Collecting veggies, which adds to a veggie count, and throwing them like the other items are used. Does anybody disapprove of that?

That's actualy a nice idea, so you can use veggies any time you want.(like the hammer) Oh, and add regular size veggies.

I like it, but you can't jump high enough. And don't change the sprite to the 16 bit SMB3 sprite please, that one is way overused.

If you say you can't jump high, you must note that you DO have the boots, though you probably do. And no, I wasn't going to change the sprite.

Frogjester: I see where you got stuck. I assumed you would have gotten boots by then when I was designing the level.

Ah yes. That was the result of a smaller screen than SMF but the same jump height. Most heights were built in intervals of 6 in Super Mario Fusion, which was how high you could jump. You can still jump 6 squares, but heights are now in intervals of 4. That is why. But I will use a bigger screen from now on, so that won't be a problem.

With or without jump boots? Mario's supposed to jump low without boots.

I get it. From here, nobody needs to say Mario jumps too low. I am going to make the jump boots easier to get from now on.
