Great game, but it runs slowly on my computer. I also got myself stuck in the last level WAY too often by using the big treasure chest to kill enemies and it blocked the way by sitting on the coins.

This is hard to deal with. Everybody is talking about how awesome the game is, and I can't play it. Is there anything I have to do or get, because everybody else can play this.

Wait! I think I know. My computer gats a black screen when lighting is used, and goes wrong with fog too. Is there any way to deal with that?

I don't know.
Why do you think the screen goes black when you press enter on the title?
For how long?(It could be loading, if your PC is slow, it seems to go slow on most peoples PC's)
It's GM game, so it probaly doesn't need a .dll
Try redowloading it from my or ultramario's post.

I did from every source. Check my above post to see what I think is the problem. Does this have fog or lighting?

Lighting blacks my screen. I can't play it because of that then. If Sploder sees this, please add a version without lighting.

I believe a koopa shell just killed an enemy and a coin was in midair for a sec and right as that was happening I hit a brick which dopped down solid blocks, which ended up standing on top of the coin. The coin dropped just as the blocks hit it. Then the blocks just floated there.

Like I said, there are still quite a few glitches. Many of the glitches don't affect gameplay, but some are very annoying, even for me (Ultramario). I'm going to try to fix that problem with coins messing up the blocks' collisions. In other words, I guess I've still got some work to do.

@TrueMario, it uses fog so that far away objects don't slow the game too much, but if I took out the fog, you would get weird cutoff problems. You wouldn't mind that too much, would you?


BTW, if you throw the chest and you get stuck in it, you can pick it back up again... not the same with the red blocks though, seeing you can't pick 'em up...

There were a few times I was stuck in the level. And you could have made it so, you can exit out of the text boxes.

Other than that, you made great transitions from 2-D to 3-D, and had decent movement.

To improve your game, you could make the puzzles more challenging, and make it so you loose health instead of coins while in 3-D. Also, I would suggest using a more artistic background instead of a few lines for bricks.

I gave up on blocks colliding with coins. Now all enemies drop just regular coins...

Also, I suck at level design. Each of these levels took up about 2-3 hours for me to come up with them...

About a more artistic bg, what can you really do with an underground portion of a fortress? I mean, I'd do it, but I can't think of anything better...

EDIT: uploaded version 2... has a few fixes, but that's about it.

Thank you very much. A bit laggy, but that's my computer. Still my favorite.
The game seems like you didn't fall into the pit of slow advancing; the game was good even without 2D-3D. Enemy variety, carrying, I think there was a cameo of you.

This is funny. I realized that I gave the player WAY too much HP in the latest demo. So I reuploaded it now so that the player starts with only 5 HP. Also, bricks make noise when they get hit by a shell...

But those're the only real changes from V2.

BTW, thanks for the comments! And crits, too!

EDIT: actually, I haven't gotten the updated version up yet, but I will in just about 30-45 mins...
