The cards got banned, at first because they were distraction, then eventually I was told all this stuff like the people in Japan bow down and worship statues of Demon Monsters Daily. As for Saudi's ban of Pokemon, it's not that surprising considering this is the same country that doesn't allow women to drive. However, keep in mind that this is just the work of the crazy ass government (which is notiously un-islamic) and most of the citizens would probably not want such laws.
