In a topic where Shaw was making avatars for people, a member kept bumping the topic looking for a chance to request an avatar.

When people kept telling him to be patient and get over it, he kept saying things like "PLEASE! IF YOU DON'T I'LL KILL MYSELF!" or "That's it. Point me to the nearest bridge".

That's...not what I meant.

This doesn't make any sense. GF was a pretty cool place and i wanted to draw some more people sometime. Why can't we keep it?

Because the members here have turned into greedy assholes and attention was drawn away from the original Arts board.

The topic is sufficient.

To add on to this, you can still do giftart for people (something along the lines of NO Body's battle sprites topic). I'm just not allowing request topics anymore. >:[

Wash_your_hands_man has a point. Why should you shutdown all the GF, when you can just restrict request topics? You can put it up as a forum rule.

I agree with them, why should it be closed totally, you could change the rules a bit, that isn't that hard( i think).

Compared to the amount of activity request/draw me get as opposed to giftart topics I question how active the GF board would be(smoke gets brownie points for doing more giftart topics than anyone ive seen on the board). :P

I, myself, have seen alot of "I'll draw you..." topics.

Wait, so you can't do a topic like Tragedy Anne's or Shaw's old one, but can still post gift art? That stinks.
Unlike the General Friendy-ness topic, it's a lot easier to just post a topic for one person, so it's easy to find, instead of searching through hundreds of posts just to find one gift art.
Maybe gift arts go to the regular Art Board?
I dunno... I'm just throwing out ideas.

I agree with him, around 50 percent of the topics is still about "i'll draw u"

"I'll draw you" topics are essentially request topics lawllll. I'm referring to topics with individual pictures (or group pics) that weren't requested.

Also SparkleLeviathan, giftart is allowed in the regular arts board. If you ask me it'd be more convenient if you notify the person via PM or some sort of IM message thing if you do giftart of them :P And yes they can be separate from the GF topic.

If I allowed topics like shaw's and anne's again it'd be practically worthless for the admins (yes i didnt get rid of the GF people >:[) to nuke the GF in the first place, plus they'd overtake the current topics in the arts board worse than when they were in their own separate forum.

so yea if people really wanna do requests now youll have to take it outside of the arts board (but then youll have to deal with the other mods oops)



AND THAT'S MY FINAL ANWSER

I'm going to miss my topic a bit. I know it's not going to be locked for a couple of weeks, but It'd be nice for it to be open for a bit longer, because while I still have 10 people left, I wasn't really done taking requests. I guess it could be gift art, though...

Anyway, I respect the decisions that have been made.

people desperate for requests could still PM/IM you since we practically dont have much control over those

i just dont want to see a bazillion request/i'll draw you topics overflowing the arts forum with the same people requesting over and over again

when someone does stuff for me i at least try to pay them back in some form (either it be a drawing, a DA sub, or e-Cash via PayPal) :P

i still gotta pay back a few peeps in my sig tho

(speakin of my sig, those numbers on the bottom represent commisions-requests-giftart, just in case someone tries to pull a fast one on me being a hypocrite lolllllll)
