This may be pathetic/already used/evil/absolutely not-like/absurd/stupid, but I was thinking about this idea after a long while for the MFGG forums.
Boss Battles are very important, fun, look forward to-able, awesome things. Some people play games just for the boss battles. Some reviewers play fangames up to the first boss, then stop. Good boss battles are crucial to a good game.
Boss Battles, among other things, can be extremely creative and fun to make and also tough to come up with (as far as good ones go.) I've seen some creative boss battles recently, such as Fracktail and King Croacus from Super Paper Mario, or perhaps Big Bungee Piranha from Yoshi's Island DS.
We have Minigame comps, but what would it be like to have a Boss competition?
For example, someone makes Boss Comp. 1: Boo. Everyone who enters must make some kind of enormous (or perhaps small but challenging) boo boss and the winners would be based on creativity, difficulty, and how well their bosses work. Also, before the competition, the creator would state the difficulty of the boss (Rating from a rating system I came up with; World 1 Miniboss to World 8 Final Boss, World 1 mini being the easiest.)
Just an idea.
