Sprite or Pixelart

I could easily see this being used in a game, + it's animated, but, oh no, it's big and detailed! D%

I still don't understand the difference between a sprite and a PA, but they're made in the exact same way so I don't see why one should be banned.

And if it's really an issue, then whoever starts the comps should say "no PAs" or "must have at least three dramatically altered poses" or "must be no bigger than [X dimension] by [Y dimension]," since the sterotypes seem to follow that "big + detailed + not animated = Pixelart"

Why do these topics still happen? Nothing is ever solved in them. They always just go around in circles

I used to enter these comps with pixel art, I stopped entering them for a good few months cause I was told it was illegal.

So Ima side with Pixel-Art not being allowed since it's Pixel art, and not even called a sprite. But I would assume it'd be fine in an art comp, just wouldn't hold up well agianst real, full, works of art.

Who originally got the idea of the Sprite Competitions? Perhaps the question should be put up to them about what the exact guidelines should be, so that arguments like this don't come up.
