I haven't really been paying attention to bans.

Banned mugen for bumping a topic that was on the same page.
Banned me for someone else posting a picture that I didn't even instruct to (obviously resolved cause i'm here now)

I should have made it clearer I'm not saying the mods are doing their job with bad intentions, I don't know enough to comment on that. I just think the staff may have noticed somethings wrong and focused their attention on the wrong things. Maybe a bit too much moderating on all levels when it was only needed on some.

Using other people's engines and stuff is only annoying when they don't even bother to remove the test level(s), just give it new graphics.

Countless times I've seen that Trisoft Engine test level.

The bumping topic thing might have been too harsh, but the image thing I can understand.

You made the image and shared it, so I don't see why you wouldn't expect it to get out there. Next time just don't share it with someone and it has no chance of biting you in the ass. So I probably would have done the same thing.

Oh btw it was on the IRC which no one cares about. IRONICLY he didn't even ban me from irc, just the forum for ten ****ing days. Thank god that got blown over. And mugen's bump was 2 days. Should have been like 2 hours.

i just don't get how anyone could argue that irc and the forums have much connection at all; there's never been any attempt to synchronize them so to speak (making sure people are always banned or have administrative powers in both, etc) and general attitudes, conversation, who's in power, etc are totally different

I can see what you mean, but I also have to say that they are linked and should be treated as the same.

Bumping it with nothing but spam that was irrelevant to the topic of discussion. However, this is no longer here nor there.

I'm currently awaiting the word from the upper-ups on the deal with the chat banning. MFGGIRC is supported by MFGG forums via official link and thus is a part of MFGG. The real issue is my GC power spilling over to the IRC. My feeling is that I had every right as long as I was able. I refuse to back down from that feeling whether or not the admins say what I did was right. If it wasn't right then whatever I did will be reverted and everyone will be happy again.

I believe your reason for the "downfall" of this message board is actually vice-versa. It's not because of the forum changes that we have inappropriate members, it's because of inappropriate members that we have forum changes. It's a general concept here, global on the internet, more and more people are getting access to the internet, and access to the amount of anonymity, which allows them to insult and flame in a free-society (the internet) without any consequences.

Hence why message boards everywhere are getting affected, this message board isn't alone. The only way we'd be able to get back is to become an extreme dictatorship and purge the entire message board of members that show even the slightest stupidity, which would not only make us appear as an elite exclusive forum, but would also get rid of many members that probably don't deserve it in the first place.

It's already happened on one occasion I know of, but probably more. (The purging this board of potentially helpful members) Still, the banner wanted to deal with stupidity in the site, and said he said he would. (not a typo)
