I just got back from Transformers, IT WAS DAMN AWESOME!

I saw it at tone of the advanced screenings myself. I liked the movie very much, lots of cool action, many laughs, it was good indeed

My only gripes were some of the humor was very corny and misplaced and to constant breaks in things happening for a little touching tender moment admist carnage was well just annoying more then helpful character development.

Was not disappointed

I also found laughs in the amount of 20-30 year old nerdy looking fellows who looked like they never left the 80's (nor their parents basements).

I just got back from seeing it, and I have to say that it was the best movie I've seen all summer, including those threequels out there. Visual effects simply blew me away.

Did I say summer? I mean year.

All right. I'm gonna set a few things straight here. I've never been a Transformers fan, but I do like a good action sci-fi movie, and most don't disappoint. Blade Runner is cool. Independence Day is cool. I liked I-Robot (Shia was better in Transformers). But this did disappoint.

It starts out, major damage, a boy and his car. then the cliche, a girl. The guy hanging from the tree awesome.

That's all the spoilers I'm giving. Optimus was great BTW. But the fight scenes were too flashy, too quick, too varied. You see Optimus fighting, then what the HECK. He shows up again as if he just entered the fight? then you see a bunch of Formers fighting, and you can't tell the difference between them. the fight scenes focus way TOO much on the humans. Sure, some of it is good, but this was TOO much.

Next. The George Bush joke. Stupid. Old. Makes the film seem retarded.

Next. Hugo Weaving is one of my favorite actors. but he disappointed me in his portrayal of Megatron. Nothing special, at all. The one liners are the same one liners from every other action movie.

Look, you can go ahead and yell at me, and flame me for this. I'm not a fan of the show form the start, but thats not it. I applaud Bay for his camera technique, and frankly, it was a GREAT gamble. Lot of creativity. Completely original. But it made the film boring for me. I have watered all over a lot of opinions concerning similar films (like Die Hard 4). so if I'm yelled at, I deserve it. But its what I think, and from now on, I'll be looking at other opinions in a different light, instead of OMG crying fanboy.

2.75/5 for the creativity, and for Shia proving he can do Indy 4.
And because Jon Voight packed heat.

That movie was ****ing awesome.

Me and my friends are SO seeing it again

I saw it today, It was amazing... and amazingly inconsistant

Saw it yesterday...and I gotta say I've never been a hardcore fan, but that was 10 DIFFERENT FLAVOURS OF PURE AWESOMENESS

And it had Linkin Park at the credits! Rock on!

I just got back from seeing it, overall I thought it wasn't that great. It had some silly moments, but the dialog was terrible and most of the time during the fight scenes it was too hard to tell what was going on and who was fighting who due to the constant use of "shaky" camera angles. However, it was a fun diversion.

Did anyone else notice how that one plane robot said something in robo-language and then did a barrel roll during the credits? I see what they did there!

I'm glad to see that they avoided the curse of old-school-cartoons-to--live-action-movies by making this a new Transformers continuity rather than making it a remake just like everyone else...

They wanted to rebuild Cybertron, their home world, which was ravaged. The only way it could attain former glory or anything even close to being their home again would be through the Allspark. They might not have been able to just destroy it, Prime just knew he could overload it by combining it with the spark in his chest. In other words, it was their last resort and only something that Prime wanted Sam to do if he failed to defeat Megatron on his own.

Bay-style camera work. Hard to tell what was going on.

No explosion when the Allspark got stuck in Megatron? Riiipooof.

Far longer than necessary, with a buttload of filler.

In other words, if it was an hour shorter, with less humans and more robots, and with more fighting...not even Michael Bay could **** that one up.
But it isn't. And he did.
It may not have ruined the franchise like I thought it would...but it came damn near close.

Linkin Park has a stupid name and all of their songs are identical

Actually, anything between Beast Wars and this ruined the franchise, not the movie itself. Do I even have to explain further?

He actually said something that was on-topic as well.

I don't try to be a dick like this usually, but it just bothers me when people post in a topic for no other reason except to criticize one's opinion about something completely off topic.

I haven't seen the movie, nor do I care to hear everybody else's opinion on a Transformer doing a barrel roll (which I know is in this movie somewhere)

Why would I comment on the movie itself?

If you are this much against side-commentary interfering with a primary topic, and that side-commentary doesn't exceed a few posts, you're better off staying away from MFGG

So you're basically trying to act like the authority? Pardon me if I'm wrong. I just believe he had the right to make that Linkin Park comment because someone had mentioned a post before.
