I can't really remember wen I was 11.

I am 11.

But, let me think back when I was... 3rd grade.

3: Discovered many fan sites, found a Yoshi one, the username Croshi is created.
3: Discovered spriting, and made ML Pokeball, Voltorb, and Munchlax. They all sucked and looked like crap.
3: Joined PixelTendo, parents didn't like it when I got a PM from Roltugot explaining sex. Left PixelTendo
3: Joined BM, got warned for calling someone stupid.
4: Rejoined new BM, still am on it.
4: Discovered MFGG(in 2004), but came back to it and started using sprites.
5(current day): Joined NSiders, started yelling at people and telling people what idiots they are.making new friends.
5: Started playing an ML MMORPG.
5: Joined MFGG.
5: Joined other forums.
5: Became an admin on that ML MMORPG(haven't recieved my powers yet, but I have the key to the admin base).
This Summer: Typed this message.

Back in 5th grade (1997/1998) a bunch of us in class managed to get a Gopher client installed on the school computers, so we could download games.
6th grade (1998/1999), I used the interwebs mainly to get cheat codes from GameSages.
7th grade (1999/2000), I got email. I still use that email as my Windows Live login: knuckles_t15 [AT] hotmail [DOT] com.
2000, we got a new computer at home that was, at the time, very powerful (1GHz AMD Athlon CPU!). We then shortly afterwards got... THE INTERNET. With that came Lunar Magic and ROM haxxing.
2001, I find out about SFGHQ via SSRG. From there, I found out about Bowser Tech, then MFGG. I lurked until February 2002, when I finally made my first message board posting on MFGG's old EZBoard. Holy hell, I was a n00b. sad.gif
Pretty much everything after this point is history :P

I honestly forget. But I think I only went on for cheats. But I mostly went on the computer for games. Never really the internet.

That pretty much sums it up.

You were on KRR?

What was your username there, if you don't mind my asking?

8 years old: I went on the internet on my friend's computer and signed up for neopets.com. Back then I didn't have the amazing magic of high-speed internet, so didn't go on much.

9 years old: Dad gets high-speed internet. Hooray. Went onto addictinggames.com and Neopets more often. Stumbles onto Nintendo N More after clicking on a link, and spent most of my chatting time there. A link to various sprite sites like tSR and MFGG were posted there, so thats how I learned about spriting. However back then I only knew about recolors and edits :/

10 years old: Got first scanner, and signed up for Photobucket. Started showing off my drawing skills at NNM. Learned about Microsoft GIF Animator and downloaded it. Started animating random sprites. Still on NNM...

11 years old: Started looking more closely at MFGG and found a registration button. Signed up, and submitted "Power Flower Powers". Saw that there was a message board and signed up. Quickly went to drawing comp., and got one Top Five badge. Spriting skills a little shaky, but getting the hang of it...

12 years old: TO BE CONTINUED...

The following events MIGHT be out of order.

Well, I don't remember my age, but I used to go to the old Nintendo site, I remember going there at the time Dr. Mario 64 came out. I also went to Pokemon.com, which seemed better back then. Though, classic is ALWAYS best, by some odd law. Eventually, I started playing Disney's Toontown Online (My first toon was tall red mouse whose name was Super Mario). Eventually, I found ToontownCentral, a site for the game. Eventually I found a comic called Mario & Luigi's RPG (now defunct) and joined the forums. I started recoloring sprites made the original Kamikaze Ukiki, who had red hair and a black cloak thing. I tried making a comic with him, but it didn't go anywhere.

Eventually, I found Pixeltendo (maybe it was thr 9th one?). I liked it, though when I posted my first sprites (M&L Billy Hatcher which was hardly M&L), I got flamed quite a lot and was scared off. Then I came back and tried to better. Then I found some ninja Ukiki sprites, recolored them green, and voila, Kamikaze 2! Then...that led into MFGG somehow. I don't remember. And...here I am now. Currently, I come here, DKVine, PT (though not as much as I used to), and Acmlm's Board.

not all of this is in order

I think the first site I ever went on was msn, and then nintendo.com.
I joined a few random video game fourms, then after pokemon emerald came out I had learned about emulation from a friend at school. I got obsesed with it so much that I started hacking pokemon.I played runescape fo little over two months, my runescape username was when I created "Two_Finger" because I lacked (I still do) creativity, and could not think of anything. shortly after I stopped playing runescape I joined "VGDC" under the name of "Mario_and_TwoFinger" or something like that I got warned there for flaming myself on my first post. Due to tons of it on emulation sties, I got into hentai (not for very long, because It got boring) and then back into emulation. My joining of MFGG some where in there, and I started posting around half a year later.

My brother had a "Arrrggg" phase, instead of saying ahh (the pissed off way) he said arrggg.

QUOTE (Joey @ Jul 8 2007, 09:08 PM)
I stopped that almost suddenly, and started playing Matrix Online which consumed my life for a large portion.

Sorry. sad.gif

Anyway, goes something like:

Very young: ENTER THE INTERNET. Mom showed me how she used GOPHER to get the instructions to Monopoly. We had at least 10 disks worth of software to install and a giant device not unlike a lawn mower to hook up.

7-10: Used my dad's office computer for the most part when he invited me to work. At some time we ended up getting dialup at home, and I discovered the OHRRPGCE. Cool stuff for the time.

11-12: I buy SimTower which comes with a demo for Klik n Play. This, combined with my obsession with Pokémon, leads me to find The Games Factory and Click games. I start making tons of stuff with OHRRPGCE and Click products (that sucked). At a friend's house (I wasn't allowed to join message boards at the time), I join the OHRRPGCE community.

12: At a quiz bowl match, my brother searches the internet for things relating to the Koopalings and stumbles across a site I would like because I do "that game making thing". I join the big OHR boards, Zantetsuken, and quickly make some friends. I play Starcraft online.

I start Luigi's Game.

13: I leave Zantetsuken after they remove the spam board and start my own splinter board with about 10 friends (and some people who followed who rightfully hated how much of a noob I was). Since then I have lost touch with all but one of those people (not counting PK). I join MFGG on March 1st 2003 and somehow become an admin over the course of the next 7 months. I also buy Battlefield 1942 on an impulse, making it the first FPS I played online and the first FPS I really played. I still wasn't really allowed to play violent games. Around this time I also got DSL.

14: I play Doom for the first time.

15: Got Matrix Online. I convince Joey to join. I join tons of other boards and stuff happens that I forget.

16-17: Lots of stuff no one cares about except quitting being an admin and finally giving in and getting a Facebook.

Back when I was 12, I joined the DBZ card game forums under the name dbzroxmysox. I told everyone to call me Shadow. I got involved in the Dragonball Z Jedi Order, and rose to the top as the only member to ever receive the rank of Lv. 3 Jedi Master, Council Member. I made a few friends like HK, Celest, ZERO_HOUR, and SSJ4_Aaron. After that board fell apart, I tried a couple Zelda boards, but left because I didn't like the members. After that, I didn't really use the internet for much except for school and porn. One day I found VGDC and decided that I wanted to make some Mario flash movies. I had recently finished PM:TTYD, and started looking for Hooktail sprites. Google brought me to MFGG forums. I lurked for a couple weeks and eventually joined up. I've been here since, and I'm also active on Kannagi Stadium. I lurk FESS a lot as well... That's about it.

since my memory sucks ima post sites i went to

Neopets: I was young and i got sucked into it.

Starmen.net: I was there as I_Am_King (as in ness' dog). I was an idiot. Lost password when my mum's computer restarted. Something about viruses. Signed up as TonySaturn. Still jerk. I got banned for idiodcy, and became dpressed for a while.

Serebii: Ocassionally i go there. Sign up as "Don_Karasu". Unless i was telling you right now you prolly wouldn't recognise me.

Animal Crossing Ahead: I bought animal crossing so i naturaly went here. signed up as TonyTendo (I suck at usernames, as you can guess).

SpiralMountain: Signed up as TonyWare. KowBrainz, whom i met at AXA directed me to Spiral Mountain. Still there today.

MFGG: While downloading Mario fangames i came here. Joined a week or so later. Still here. My "encounter" with bans from Starmen.net has prolly helped me not get into too much trouble here. Still been an idiot here tho (i think) . BUT IM TRYING OK GUYS

CHEATSITES: yeppers

NOT IN ORDER.

First, I discovered Google, obviously. Later, after doing some searching, I came upon some crappy Nintendo sprite comic site, which linked me to Neglected Mario Characters Comix. Then somewhere down the line in 3rd or 4th grade, a link for Gamix.net (Or was it org?) popped up on NC, which led me to a Mario-Megaman-Sonic crossover comic. That site linked me to Psyguy's Dirty Power website, which I awaited the sprite update for everyday. I remember nothing else though, I forgot my long and difficult journy to MFGG.

1996... It started with my crappy old Windows 95 PC... i played games (No internet) like "Proffesor tims incredible machines" (TIM) and "Adiboo" Which was some random thing of which i remember only thr name of... came 1998, i had internet, the first thing i went on was... GRAY AREA HERE-
Following on, i played numerous games- to name a few- Neopets, Runescape, Unreal tournament (and still do play it) after a few years, 2004, i found SME... i was so intrested and gobsmacked by the amazing thought of a homebrewed game i had to try myself! my port of call? Jeff.

After Pestering Jeff for a few months, i was finally ready to start making Mario games, but... no sprites- i got directed to MFGG, where i joined as Mario-Mario, only to forget my password and then return almost a year later.

My attitude was shaped by things around me, and my life has been quite untrue and nasty to me... i was completley obsessed with getting revenge from a computer hacking i recieved in 2000 (EVERYTHING i was allowed to do, i wasn't allowed to do, all restrictions basically)
And i became the short-fused, angry person people saw in 2005 and before, however now- i've become laid back and enjoy what little slice of pleasure i can get with the full dish of nastiness that is my not-social life... yeah, that sums it up.

Me and my friends were addicted to Bionicles, then i found out that they had an online adventure game that you could play. However the only way to save your progess was to get a forum account. For my user name I typed my name backwards, Elyk. it said that was taken and suggested Elyk19. I played games on there for a couple of months, then got involved in playing my N64 trying to beat Banjo-Tooie.

After I beat that and returned it to my friend I saw that lego updated their site. When Lego.com updated their site I had a new badge sytem like the one here. However I did not get a veteran badge(meaning I was there before the site updated) and got kind of pissed off. I havent been to lego.com since.

<Lots of time where I did other stuff>

Then I bought 1nsane, a really nice ORR(off-road racing) game. Then I found a community called inasaneheat. I join, participating in races over Gamespy and making maps. I even modeled a fish car that could not flood underwater.

I began to grow bored, then found GM. I am also getting tired of typing this so I will end by saying: GM led to me looking for sprites which led to MFGG, then I found you guys had a community, so now I'm here making Mario Fangames.

My parents installed a computer with internet when I was around 7 and all it had was AOL so I just lurked around and got bored pretty quick. When I was 8 I decided to use the internet again, this time going into weird chatrooms on videogames- but they never talked about videogames.

I used some search thing to look up stuff on yoshi's and found the Yoshi Fan Club and was inspired, I made up a simple yoshi character named Superyoshi. He was a green yoshi with a red shirt and a dark blue cape. (I also met Mario Gamer around this time too) Someone at YFC posted a link to MFGG and that's where I started lurking for a few years- I joined the Forums but never posted until around 2003

More stuff probably happened but blah I'm too lazy to type it all up.

QUOTE (Joey @ Jul 8 2007, 02:08 PM)
Back when I first found "THE INTERNET," I surfed mainly video game forums until I came upon something called the "Yoshi Community." Here's the deal: Even though I had a "Yoshi Character" (he was pretty badass, but a little emo) I hated almost everyone else within this community. People like me should remember names like "Luna" and "Markior."

I've learned that Yoshi communities are filled with:
[*] Emos
[*] Nazis (can't have a different opinion)
[*] Furries

I myself had a Yoshi Community experience that was vastly negative. There were a few gem members that I'm still in contact with, but the majority are whiners.

The head admin once rallied all the members and made an assault on a rival yoshi forum. I stopped it from happening by the means of a 7 page back-and-forth argument.
