I will think about increasing Goomba's speed, because it annoys me too.

Thanks for the background thing, I'll add it.

I don't have animated NSMB lava.

I can't really make the mushroom platforms very well, because my engine doesn't support curved slopes like in NSMB. And if I extend the solid part of the platform to the right, it will look like Goomba is standing in the air.
