You can already do that with DS and PSP. You could do it with the PSP before the DS by the way.

Not long before they invent a MP3 player application card so that it can match wits with the PSP, since they both have Internet capability.

I can't wait for a MP3 program for the DS that reads MP3s from SD Cards - my PDA has a truckload of MKDD ones on it's SD Memory Card, and playing them on the DS would be awesome. Even have the MP3 Player in the background, so when playing a game, you could replace the in-game music with your own?
