Nintendo or Not?, Should I go with a fangame or not?

So, I have decided to make an original game, but I also want to make a game starring Mario, as well as I have had an idea for a Zelda game. So, could you guys help me choose which one to make?

An Original Game
Hmm... walk around as one of five or six characters, talk to people, do missions, earn money, buy stuff, go and do more missions, fight enemies, save the world. That kind of stuff.
Zelda Fangame
The Legend of Zelda: Path to Peace. Cheesy title. Basically, a walk in the four-directions, use your sword, bow and boomerang kind of thing.
Mario Fangame
A generically generic Mario fangame. Platformer, bad level design, that kind of stuff.

Just go with whatever you feel comfortable with.

Original one assuming its an RPG.

It is going to be a platformer RPG, just without turn-based battles.

Sort of like Super Paper Mario except with original characters?
I suggest original game then.

Or you could just, you know, combine all of those ideas into one big game. >_>

How about you stop making polls asking what we want and actually do what you want. The FD is being reduced into idea polls and people who can their game because people aren't interested.

The way you say what you're choices are makes me want to root for the original game.

Some people also care about the players as well. Idea polls can have good results.

That's the idea of these polls, to get ideas and create something people WILL be interested in, if a game falls flat on it's face, and you slave days of work into it, you won't be happy... but if you make something people have interest in, then you're more likely to make it take off properly (See Mikiko Quest)

Back to the point. Honestly, I just want to see a great RPG fan game, I'm getting sick of platformers.
