Not quite. List is still showing members who have forum numbers as "no forum number."

I'm gonna go ahead and delete the templates again, then restore them.

EDIT: And as I refresh I can see the list adding members and removing members, slowly. When it looks accurate enough I'll restore all the pages again.

If it happens again let me see it, I might know how to fix it.

The reason it's screwing up is that, for some silly reason, the Category existing in the code template adds the page to the category, regardless of where it is.

The only way to fix this is to have a single template, and you can't nest templates, return <includeonly>Category</includeonly> to its caller. Therefore it'd have to be {{MFGGer}} which does this by itself, otherwise it'll have the Category stuck in it automatically from any templates it calls regardless of conditions.

Basically if this pops up in your template:

... then the stupid template will always add to the category, even if it shouldn't be noticed, just because it's been typed in the code.

It worked fine before without doing that.

It worked fine but now the list is all sorts of screwed up because of whatever somebody did. So, it's now slowly updating. Give it some time. Then maybe I'll restore Kyori's work because the list worked when he did whatever he did. Then we'll monitor again and see if anything breaks.

Please don't touch anything without BS's or my say-so.

Not mine bro, it's MFGG's, and normally I'd leave it up to you folks to make changes to the wiki while the sysops overlook changes and "moderate." But I gotta wait and see if the list re-adds the banned members and removes the members that shouldn't be showing up on the list before we can make any more changes or add any more templates.

Ok, list is nice and updated now. As of right now anyone between A and D that doesn't have a forum number is a banned or ex- member. I'll work on giving more people forum numbers tonight, any help would be appreciated.

Just don't go messing with templates unless you know what you're doing won't break everything.

I'll help out with adding more forum/site numbers tonight when I'm back from my lessons.

I'll try some stuff out earlier on this afternoon so that it won't really affect any work you might be doing tonight. It would be handy if you could restore those 2 templates I created so I can work with them.

I wouldn't worry about it breaking the list, if it all goes wrong I'll just set the MFGGer template back to what it was and we won't need to delete the 2 other templates. I'd appreciate it if anybody messing about with either the MFGGer template or the ForumNumber/SiteNumber templates could tell me what they're doing, that way we don't end up changing things at the same time and messing everything up.

if we do it at the same time it's very likely we will get a warning from mediawiki because we're both editing the page simultaneously, unless we are some kind of psychics who perfectly alternate our edits

I didn't mean the same article at exactly the same time, I just meant editing those group of templates. MediaWiki wouldn't complain about it, and we'd just get confused.

I'll have a go with it when I get back this afternoon, if you could leave it until then that'd be great.

Okay well I think I've fixed it, apparently I didn't even understand how my own wiki code worked

I've only done it for sitenumber at the moment and I'm waiting as the list updates itself, then I'll move onto forumnumber if everything's good.

Edit: It worked, I've done it for forumnumber aswell. Yey!

I tryed to do so, but it doesn't seem to affect it.

Though, I know the actual name to Subby is linked to my article.
But, will that one have to be deleted, if I'm needing to move the name to that one, to the article of mine, by then?

Ack, double redirect...

I've moved it over by copy/pasting the source from Subbykin into Subby, then added a redirect into the Subbykin article which goes to Subby.

Joey or Black Squirrel will have to delete http://wiki.mfgg.net/index.p...Sub&redirect=no since it's pretty much redundant.

Feel my article sorting wrath MFGG.

MFGG's Wiki was unorganised and messy. We had something stupid like 50 main categories. 50!

I've reduced it to... 11. I've shifted categories within categories, and annihilated most of the "uncategorised pages" list. The result is a much cleaner MFGGWiki experience. Now if I could only figure out how to update and skin the thing, it would be perfect.

Now it's not completely organised, there's still quite a bit that could be moved about, but it's more organised than what it was. Problem is, all those articles with {{needsattention}} in them have delayed the process. Would be great if those were reduced.

The most important addition is Category:MFGGWiki. This now contains everything Wiki-related that one could ask for (nearly). It's a good place to look for templates (or it will be when I'm finished putting them all in). It's also a good place to look to see what needs to be done.

some of these pages have already been expanded on - they just haven't had their message tag removed.

If you've lost stuff I'll find it for you.



Every page should have a category. Often they're automatically put in categories by templates. Just make sure no articles are left out!
