Uploading images to the wiki is encouraged, provided there is a purpose for them.

Can't really comment on this, but seeing as RII spent a while fixing the wiki uploads just recently I'd say they aren't as lazy as you make it seem.

Like I said before, the downsides to hotlinking from photobucket and imageshack are pretty much negligible when compared to the work needed to upload all of the images (that are already uploaded to an image hosting site!). While yes, it might be preferable to have the refs uploaded to the wiki eventually, it would make everything a lot easier in the short term to just enable external image embedding, which will fix all of the images on the user articles instantly.

I'm not the only person editing the wiki, but I am one of them. There aren't a whole lot of people doing it and uploading the references of all of the users (who had already linked to their references anyway) is a pain for them. It's a lot more work than it needs to be.

Type in the image's name in your article, click on its red link, and click on the file. What's the effort here?

That is RII, that was recently, and that was a critical repair to a vital function, not a modular optimization.

Because it looks messy for anybody browsing the wiki. It's just something that could easily be done and would make things look a lot neater while the uploading is being done.

The links to the files are all there in the user articles; do it yourself if you think it's so easy.

Alright, I signed up for the Wiki itself. Since I'm new to the Wiki, it'll be great if someone can teach me a few things about editting pages and adding information to a page and stuff (Yes, creating a page does counts).

Step 1. Type Help:Contents in the search bar

Someone needs to make the Forum Event Badge template, You don't need to add an image, I added it like 1 month ago.

Done, although all it does it show the image.

We need a Forum Events article/category or something.

Er ... what is the template supposed to do? I can fix it if I know what it's meant to do ...

There's nothing to fix; it works fine.

Wiki contributors might want to start focusing their efforts on:

There is no longer a 5+ cap on badges for the new MFGG so having complete records would make things simpler.
