Paper Wart, sprite preview

I am not sure if I am going to do a re-make of an old game Paper Wart, but I have started making a sprite of him, PM2 styled.



I did some minor editting on the color, eyes, and crown. I will worry about the hands later.

the crown is to low the right arm looks like it was slopped on there and it looks a bit pillowed to me

I made the right arm like that on purpose. I also do not seem to see any pillow shading. Anyways, thanks for your thought.

Oh my god.

I'm sorry but... this sucks.

First off, the eyes. Too MSPaint circly. And the crown is off like that? The head in general is bad. Last time I checked, Wart had a much smaller nose (if any) and no hanging lip.

Head: REALLY needs work.

Then the cloak. You did a good job on it, but it hangs off a little too far. How'd it get there?

Cloak: Must be closer to Wart's body.

The body is okay.

Body: Nice work.

The arms, OH MY GOD. They're the most horrible arms I've ever seen. Period.

First, the left arm, WHAT THE HELL IS THE SHOULDER DOING HALFWAY DOWN HIS BODY? In fact, it doesn't even look like the shoulder is connected to the body... that's a horrible arm job. Hand, even worse; MSPaint circle with lines to mark the hands. The right arm is just... oh god, it's bad. It's higher than the left arm by a lot, and it looks like he's hyperflexible or something... looks like he bent his elbow the OTHER WAY. Hand is same as last time.

Arms: GOD they need a lot of work.

Finally, the feet. They shouldn't be connected to the body like that. Plus, too small.

Feet: Needs more work.

And the shading? It's pillow shaded. Deal with it. Lighter around the edges, darker inside. Pillow. Shading. Not. Good. Really. Bad.

And some of the colors are bad. Like they're the preset colors you get when you boot up MSPaint. Also. Not. Good. Really. Bad.

In short and in general, this is a very horrible sprite. It needs a lot more work.

It seems to me (though admittedly I'm judging from memory) that his eyes are too far apart. I seem to recall them more or less touching each other.
