Hot Rod is one of those movies like Napoleon Dynamite that is shot in the amatur style with a low budget and a stupid story. I'm proud to say that Hot Rod is much better then Napoleon Dynamite and probably my favorite comedy of the year thus far.
While Hot Rod's story might be more stupid then any other film I've seen. (Rod is working to save his step father's life with a heart transplant just so he can kick his ass) It's characters stay true to the story, and the actors are extremely well picked and suited for each part. Andy Samberg, Bill Hader, Chris Parnell are all fantastic in their roles. The movie is probably the most quotable movie of the year like Anchorman was a few years ago.

The movie is a different style of humor, but I haven't laughed so hard this year. If you like SNL's digital shorts you will love this movie. It's fun and worth every penny. I'm sad to see this film was out of the top 10 in the box office the second week. It's my favorite comedy thus far and might even be my favorite movie of the year thus far. That's why I'm giving it a perfect score.
