Actually, Game Maker is now starting to piss me off. GM6 won't work with Vista, and GM7's system requirements are starting to get ridiculous when compared to the games that are actually being produced. I could play Halo on High quality on my old PC, but some fangames would play with hideous amounts of lag.

For this reason, I wish developers would mention breifly what version they had used. Also, file sharing sites can be really annoying.

It's Vista, the system requirements are supposed to be higher to keep up with Vista.

You can play GM6 games on Vista using this: http://www.gamemaker.nl/GM_Convert_Game.zip
It replaces the runtime in any GM6 game with a larger (in file size) but Vista-compatible version.

No pause button. Kind of annoying when you have 10 Goombas running in from the left of the screen and 10 Bullet bills from the right, 39 Podoboos from the bottom and 5 Thwomps from the top coming at you and you have to make an important phonecall, but the game uses the "OMFG GAME RESTART ON HIT" system, and you're on the last level.

I think this is probably because a lot of GM users neglect to use the instance activation/deactivation codes, so every object in the entire room keeps having its events executed and being drawn.
