first: congrats to josiah for winning the previous comp.

Josiah asked me to make this one so we are going to sprite game mockups,
so you need to sprite stuff that together looks like a screenshot of a (fake)game. It must contain some characters from the mario universe.
You can use ripped backgrounds but the rest must be totally custom.

Well start spriting and good luck

yeah, same question. Its easy making one sprite but making a whole game scene is harder.

Pretty sure this excludes the concept of using pre-made materials.

Anyway, why would making one game scene be so difficult? In more conventional sprite comps, people often make tons of poses for their entries, but in this one varying poses are not required.

I might not have the patience to do backgrounds by hand, so can I get a BG from a real game or something? Prometheus already asked this, but I need answers.
Can you recolor BGs?
