It's pretty good! In my opinion, however:

-Perhaps a less bright shade of green for the terrain could be considered
-Mario's nose and mustache look rather far forward or to the left on his face
-The rim of the pipe is very thin vertically
-The hills or whatever they're supposed to be (I still don't know) in the background somehow look a bit flat rather than round. Maybe it's at least partly because their eyes appear the same width even though they're facing different ways from the centers and thus have different rules of perspective applying to them. It might help if either the eyes were closer together, or the nearer eye looked a slight bit wider than the further one on each (because of foreshortening), or both. Another thing that may make them look flat is the fact that they're all coming up from beyond where the flat land ends, rather than having foreshortened circular bases on the land.

Since there's still time before the Top 5, you still have time for improvements.

Heh... Yeah. Personally, I can't sprite Mario to save my life. I could recolor it to Luigi, if you want.

Slightly modified my entry (added shadows for the mushrooms on the walls). I edited my earlier post in this topic that had the final(?) version of my entry in it, so that that was added. I'll also link to it again just because. EDIT: Nah, I'll just post the image again.




P.S. I hope Phage will finish his entry, because it's amazing so far and would likely be even more amazing if finished.

Well I wanted bright colors, but I'll change it.

And I was getting around to fixing that part.

And I'm also working on a platform mockup, too, so ehhh.

I don't know why, but I love that Goomba... It doesn't fit the perspective, but I'd love to see a sheet of it for a sidescroller.
