Like dj yoshiman said, you're trying to please the public, not yourself, and if you're trying to please yourself rather than the public then don't submit your games!!!
You don't have to change them into NSMB, i think changing them into m&l:ss will do wonders.

a tip which has been mentioned before: your releasing a platformer every weak, meanin g you don't update the engine to often. Try to make a new far superior engine. It'll take a while, but then you'll have platformer that people will love to play

I can't imagine how you think the music fits at all. No offense meant, but Waligie's music hardly fit the game worse than this game's music fits it. How does exciting, fast-paced rock music fit a SMB3-style map screen? :S

As for the graphics, I honestly don't see why some people are complaining so much about them. They don't bug me. It would be nice if Hello used different graphics for different games, but using the same ones isn't that big of a deal, especially when he uses varying tilesets. As I'm sure you guys can see, in this game he used different recolors of Black Squirrel's tileset, which is a good thing, and which gave the game some interesting graphical variety.

And yeah, M&L:SS graphics aren't the best for platformer games; keeping the SMB3 ones would probably be preferable. Though to be honest, I'm personally not a big fan of M&L graphics in general.

Could you please use different mario and enimie sprites? There kinda repetitive now.

The game itself is fairly enjoyable, and it's pretty challenging.
And I found this glitch where if you get a mushroom from reserve as small mario, and the cielings above you, mario gets stuck.
You should add a level restart button.

It's most definitely not pointless. Music is the integral part of what helps emit what emotions you want from the game and get a general feeling atmosphere. If a certain music doesn't seem to fit the game, then it's most likely the case that it doesn't.


I'd like to say that the music, as much as you tried getting the hard-core, fast-pased feel across with it, Hello... it doesn't quite work with this game. It feels like random music tracks that were added in, when music should feel like it was specifically meant to be the game, almost as if the music was created only for that game. You could have used some Mario remixes, instead, or original music that fit the style of the current action of the screen.

Trust me, this is talking from several years of experience in music.

Whoops, I just now noticed this.

Hello, my good man, the save feature doesn't work. A save file gets created when I say "Yes" to the question that asks me if I want to save, but whenever I select "Load" on the title screen, a buzz sounds. And the save file is indeed in the same folder as the game.
