| QUOTE (Black Squirrel @ Aug 25 2007, 01:25 PM) | The "American" one is better for several reasons. Obviously the Japanese one is essentially the same as the original but with worse graphics (Those clouds... ugh), a few tweaks to gameplay and harder levels. SMBUSA is vastly different to the original, much like Zelda 2 on the NES, but without it you wouldn't be getting a lot of the features in the sequels to follow. Hell, SMB3 may not even have had picking up shells without it. Even the simplest of things like doors may never have been present in sequels.
SMB and SMB2J could have easily been stuffed together in one package if given the time. The latter is nothing special and didn't really inspire a whole lot except poision mushrooms and eyes on everything. |
...the Hell? SMB2J kicked so much ass! For one thing, I LOVE challanging games, and SMB2J IS challangeing. Two, more levels = more fun, and three, Those secret levels were kickass! But that's just my opinoin, though I'm not saying SMB2 sucked, it's just I think SMB2J was better.
