| QUOTE (Elyk19 @ Aug 31 2007, 06:53 PM) | Spoilers:
| I just welded the Aurora Unit, and fixed my ship. Where are the pieces of the bomb? It told me they were on a different planet. | |
Spoilers: | Uh... no, they're on Elisia. Different parts, two are already at the location you're at (the area, not the exact room you're in), and one is one a different area to fly your ship to. They should be marked by ? on your map. |
Spoilers: | Meanwhile, I'm loving the Space Pirates' home base. Or at least, that's what they're implying you should believe. I love how the general automatically assumes you to take the position of destroying the generator so that they can attack it. He made it sound so professional. He would have had the same reaction from me even if he said "hey, you're down there anyways, destroy a generator so we can attack kthx." |

I beat it earlier, and to be honest I'm not sure where to rank it in the Prime series. It's definitely not as good as the first one, but still pretty solid. I really did not like all the stuff with the Galactic Federation, it felt very uncreative and lame, and the stuff with the Aurora Units ended up just being more confusing to the overall storyline than anything. Thankfully it wasn't as linear as I thought it'd be, it really opens up after the first few hours. I'm more disappointed by what they didn't do, especially in terms of the storyline and connections to Metroid II and Super Metroid. I don't know why I should have expected anything better since Metroid games were never about storyline anyway, but (final boss spoilers)Spoilers: | after the Aurora Units were made out to look so much like Mother Brain, it's weird that the actual battle with one progressed nothing like a MB fight. |
I really did enjoy it overall, sorry if it sounds like I'm nitpicking or *****ing. Gameplay was really fun, graphics and music were excellent and the token system is beyond awesome and is something I hope gets used in future games.

The final battle would have been at least x5,000 more epic if Spoilers: | Instead of some random Aurora Unit, the AU stolen by the Pirates (I forget the number) was actually a GF reconstructed Mother Brain. And there'd be some sort of 'betrayal' esque story revolving around it (like in Metroid Fusion when Samus finds out the GF is secretly breeding Metroids). God I'd love to see Mother Brain in 3D ;__; |
One thing about the ending I don't get: Spoilers: | Ok, Dark Samus 'died' in pretty much the exact same way she did Prime 2 (exploding into particles), so why did she 'die' this time? Why not just re-form like in Prime 2? Or is the destruction of Phaaze to blame? |
Overall the middle of the game was great, but the beginning and ends weren't so wonderful. Not bad or anything, just kinda mediocre. :V I'm not sure which Prime is my favorite now. I guess Prime 1 still, though all three were really good. To say the least, Prime 1 definitely had the best music, and 3 definitely had the least memorable music of the trilogy. Also, I'm pretty sure this has been posted somewhere, but http://ds.ign.com/articles/815/815899p1.htmlThat + the 100% ending makes me think there'll be another Metroid game, not that I didn't think there was going to be though :V

Spoilers: | I decided to take breaks in between levels so as not to go through the game to fast. Skytown was epic and very well designed, and when the AU told me to go to the spire and wait I knew I was being set up |
Music wasn't as epic as I'd hoped, but epic nonetheless.
