Here we go. Super Mario Bratarsi is Super Mario fangame, that mix gameplay of SMB2, SMB3, SMW (wow, it began slogan of this game). You can throw vegetables and bombs at your enemies, you can make triple jump, slide somersault (in new demo you'll be able to do wall-kick too!), you can transform into Super Bro. Three screens for you. Some info from SMBratarsi site: Super Mario Bratarsi project launched in 21.06.07 as "Super Mario Venture". The title was changed for some reason. It had to be something like "Super Mario Bros. 2", but the game evolved into the gameplay mix of Super Mario 2 (veggie take, Birdo battles), 3 (Blocks, I am working on racoon suit) and World (Yoshi). There will be 16 levels + 2 bonus areas. In this game you'll find the level select system that will make you able to complete the new map or back to one of previous maps and change character (Mario or Luigi) on 1 player mode. Mario's jump is lower than Luigi's jump, but Luigi's brake is slower. I am planning to make Mario/Luigi able to ride Yoshi. It isn't very hard, but it need some sprite (completed) and script work. You will probably meet Yoshi in final version of Super Mario Bratarsi. What is annoying in this game? What do you want to see in this game?4 levels are completed, level 2-1 is so long. Download Demo: Mirror GMClan - Polish mirror Mirror MFGG probably isn't able to use. Please, read help file before playing.Uh, last info. The engine of this game was made by me and I won't publish it. This post has been edited by Jaklub on Sep 18 2007, 01:46 AM

Yeah, this isn't the only game where veggie throwing made veggies fly forward and up instead of forward and down. I have to say that does make things kind of difficult. Sometimes I think the vegetable will hit an enemy in front of me, but it flies over its head and the enemy kills me.
Another strange thing about the game is that you can pick up multiple items at once, though the ones you picked up first disappear. For example, you can pick up a vegetable, and then pick up a Goomba by holding one of the buttons and jumping on it. The vegetable, if it isn't thrown before you land on the Goomba, just basically disappears after the Goomba gets picked up. Birdo's eggs can also be picked up multiple times in a row (though I'm pretty sure that they don't count as more than one egg when you throw them).
Also, the lack of a run button is pretty noticeable, but I think you already said on the main site that you would be adding that. (Or maybe you did already; I'm just talking about the version from the main site, which I played before.)
Other than these things (unless running is added), the engine is very good. There may be other things I should bring up, but I can't remember any more right now.
P.S. Why is the name called "Bratarsi"?

To fix, ok.

I'll fix it.
| QUOTE | | It says in the main site that it is a combination of the Japanese name for Super Mario Bros. 3? Correct me if I'm wrong. |
No, you aren't wrong. You are right.
| QUOTE | | Did you code to do this? |
Sure, but in GML.

It's already fixed. | QUOTE | | Also, the lack of a run button is pretty noticeable, but I think you already said on the main site that you would be adding that. (Or maybe you did already; I'm just talking about the version from the main site, which I played before.) |
Fixed.

Thank you.
| QUOTE | | When you throw a turnip into an enemy, the killed enemy keeps falling back and kills enemies behind it. You still should be able to kill multiple enemies at the same time though, as the turnip should bounce up as it hits enemy after enemy. |
OK, I can make it.
| QUOTE | | The same thing applies to shooting fireballs. When one enemy is killed, it flies onto others behind it and kills them. |
I knew it. I can fix it very easy.
| QUOTE | Also, you should be able to stop a moving koopa shell by stomping on it. In the demo you lose power or die if you do that.
When you lose power Mario/Luigi flies away like crazy. |
I'll fix it.
| QUOTE | | Didn't play much but I liked it. 1st level seemed to short, or is that only if you go down the pipe. Anyways, i'll be looking forward to more updates. |
Believe me, 1st level is probably the longest in demo, if you don't use secret pipe.
New, fixed demo will be released next week.
