What is a code for an object that is on ice make the ice slippery?

I think it would be pretty hard to do that if the character didn't already use acceleration/deceleration when moving normally (as opposed to "jump to relative position" movement). If acceleration and deceleration are used, I guess you should just make the values of both be lower (i.e., walking/running speed should increase slower and decrease slower) when the character is on top of ice blocks.

Wow. All it is:
Instead of stopping when you hit the ground, set a low friction, like 0.25. That way you slide and then slowly stop.

Let me show you, put this code in the collision event for the ice object:
CODE
gravity=0;
vspeed=0;
friction=0.25;

Does the character's speed gradually increase/decrease in the game normally, instead of the character just moving back and forth at a fixed speed when the movement keys are held? Because if the latter is the case, I'm not sure slipping on ice could even be implemented, at least in a way that made any sense.
