...I didn't like it. It was a completely different movie. Excessive gore and sex. Jamie Lee Curtis was a much better actress for the babysitter too. Rob Zombie's take also ends in a way that it doesn't lead up to the rest of the Halloween movies as well. The only scene from the original is the classic kill where Michael lifts a guy up in the air and stabs him so that he is hanging on the wall.

I prefer the original.

I'll give the movie props for being scarier than the original (though that isn't hard) and going into the childhood of Michael Myers though (that was like half the movie, made the rest seem a bit rushed).

Of course you prefer the original. You know why? Because Rob Zombie has done a grand total of 0 good movies. Even his fake trailer in "Grindhouse" was the worst of the bunch.

Actually, the remake is actually a good film on its own, if you ignore the original series.

I've never seen the original and it still sucked. Hard.

His Grindhouse trailer was definately the weakest (but I still liked it) and I admit, I did like The Devil's Rejects. His other movies, not so much.

Also, didn't he once say that he hated remakes?

That would explain why it's a completely different movie compared to the original then.
