On the last day of my vacation, I started on my big dream... a yoshi's island engine. From the moment I started gamemaking, I always wanted to make a YI game, since it was my favorite game from my childhood.

Untill now, I've never been able to create a good engine, since I never was capable of recreating the complex movement of Yoshi untill now... laugh3.gif

For now:

Yoshi with all his movements
Egg-shooting
Hills
Jump-trough platforms
Rotating jump-trough platforms
Rotating jump-trough platform that only rotate when yoshi stands upon it
Shyguys
?-Cloud with starits
Piranha Plant

Controls:

Left/Right: Move
Up: Look up
Down: Duck/Groundpound (in air)
Space: Use tongue/Spit enemy
Shift: Jump/(Hold to hover in air)
Control: Aim/Shoot

I hope you guys like it and I hope I can release a game from it soon, or maybe an open-source.

Also many thanx to Raccoon Sam, for a lot of sounds and sprites laugh3.gif

This engine is outstanding so far.

I was thinking of making a YI game/engine eventually, but it would be extremely difficult, if even possible, for me to make one as good as this. @_@

it would not be the next UME engine,i have seen open source's of his games(no im not giving them out or using them) the codes are very complex,i can hardly understand them. hes now saying makeing this YI engine was very hard so i bet the coding for this would also be very very complex,which means noobs would not be able to understand very well and the engine would be no use to them,not sure if this is considered flaming....just trying to make a point. btw i love the engine Flipiberke!

He meant that it would be OVERUSED.

You don't have to understand it to make a game out of the Ultramario Engine.

I remember this. It's Awesome!

There's one glitch though. Eat a Shy Guy (don't shallow it), jump near the rotating platforms and press down repeatedly. Then Yoshi doesn't only shallow the Shy Guy, but also stay in the air until he moves.

That would indeed be the case:

The code to control yoshi (all in step event) is now about 1115 lignes and with the scripts perhaps 2000 lignes in total... soveryhappy.gif
