So it's September 11th again.

There's no point in "remembering" it every single year. Sure, it was a tragedy, but now it just feels like we're milking it. Once it does reach, say, the 10th Anniversary, people just won't care any more. I only cared on the 1-year Anniversary.


For me, 9/11 just sticks out as one of those days that is supposed to be important, but just doesn't feel like it. I don't want to sound insensitive, but I get more emotional watching clouds. :X

I wonder if they did this as long after Pearl Harbor, and if not how many years it did take them to stop "remembering" that?

Yeah, for PS2. I'm actually heading out to EB to pick up the game.

The Wii version comes october 9th.

I'm not even that bothered by it. My biggest concern right now is that I have at least five weeks worth of assignments about to rain fiery death down on me and I haven't touched any of it up to now due to being under a lot of mental stress since school started.

But yeah I think it's really at the stage now where only America cares. It was a global thing before then, now it's really just America. Also since it kinda started pointless sucky wars, people don't really care for it.

I mean not to be evil or whatever, but even the families of those who died should have got over it by now. Yeah they remember, but it's not a huge event.

Although I agree with the rest of your post, this part disturbed me. Everyone grieves differently, and no one deserves to have their grief questioned or challenged.

I think it's getting old by now. I'm already tired of hearing about Katrina as well. Every time I look at these thing I can't help but remember those shopped pics adding in hulk hogan or will smith.

Haha, it's funny, because I hadn't even thought about it all day until I came home and saw this topic.

We're going to... or at least.... Americans are going to keep hearing about it for a while, because we live in a media-driven world, and the Ametican government is using it as an excuse to occupy other countries.

I haven't lived but 18 some years so I dunno how long things like this 'last', like the aforementioned Pearl Harbor or such, but I also didn't know anyone who died, and actually slept through it. Given I don't watch TV anymore much anyway, I never have to deal with much of the depressing reprises unless the TV is left on.

When I do however, there's one thing I always notice... they're trying to 'remember' the people who died... but they always seem to show the attacks over and over. Are they really doing any honoring by showing what is basically a zoomed out video of thousands of people dieing horrible deaths? That always bothered me in these types of things, bombings, hurricanes, whatever, isn't that a bit distasteful?

Sorry, I've always wanted to get that out.

Yes, don't play it over every year. This makes it worse as it would make people feel their grief, and then not cope with it.

September 11th... i stopped caring about it 4 days after it happened, it's like the Holocaust in my eyes now, happened looong time ago.
