London - Tests in Britain have confirmed a fresh foot-and- mouth outbreak on a farm in Surrey, the BBC reported Wednesday, citing government sources.

A cull on the affected farm in Egham, in the county of Surrey, near London, was well under way.

The site is some 50 kilometres away from a major outbreak of the disease in August, for which serious security lapses at a government- owned laboratory were said to have been responsible.

A national ban on animal transports and a 10-kilometre exclusion zone around the farm has been imposed.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown was due to chair a meeting of the government's emergency committee later Wednesday.

And for all that time that has passed since the disease last attacked Britain I thought the disease was gone for good. huh.gif

When will it end for our farmers. And the world needs to produce more food that we did in the last half decade if we're not all about to starve. More food would be good for global warming, ubt farmers is very hard at the moment in the UK.

You'll probably find this happens quite a bit, but is hyped up by the media a bit because of that really big outbreak not too long ago.
