Interesting idea.

Just think of something good, while you're saying your speech.

It helps to know the speech inside out. Almost off by heart. That way youy can deviate (esp. when it comes to hecklers).

Also, don't make eye contact with the audience. Look just above them (by 1 foot). Do look up from your paper where possible.

Nothing is as bad as seems. :>

Get a friend to sit in the front row if you can, but seriously, if you see one jerk pulling a face at you that will be it. It was for me, time and time again. Also, DON'T say "Can I have an AMEN" (The answer was no, and the result was that my legs almost failed). Despite all that I got elected anyway, so just be yourself. Trust me, look one foot above, because its hard for people to tell.

I don't have any friends. :V




But I gave my speech and apparently I did great. Yay!


The only thing I need to work on is speaking up. I was a little too quiet. ^.^;

At my school I regulerly have to give speeches (probobly becuse people here like my acsent ) and sing AND play the guitar but I'm still allways nervos so I couldn't think of any advice for you, sory !

Well done for keeping your underwear dry! Reckon you'll do it again any time soon willingly? Also, you don't realise it but there are (in all likelyhood, people out there who like you, trust me, just talk to other people you see on their own, or sit down with a group of girls having a good natter(not *****!)).

Well, a little late but here's what I do to get over nervousness.

When I get in front of a crowd and have to make a speech, I usually think to myself before going up, 'You are about to talk about something in front of a bunch of people who really don't care." which half the time that's true. Sure they can tease you and make fun of you, but so what? They'll have to go up sometime!
