Extra information about passwords

I also need to point out that the link with the U may be coincidental. While we feel that there is emphasis on U members to keep their passwords separate as a precaution, THE BEST SECURITY YOU CAN HAVE IS TO USE A STRONG PASSWORD OF NUMBERS AND LETTERS THAT DOES NOT REPRESENT A DICTIONARY WORD. This applies to every member on MFGG, whether you've registered on the U or not. Keeping a strong password will protect you even if our own user table were compromised.

I'm still curious to know as to how Joey knew of the md5 hash of an U member, then compared it to the md5 hash of a MFGG member, and came to the conclusion that Mugen/Night was responsible for this.

Ok, done.

He didn't. He drew a much more simplistic conclusion. And he does not have access to anyone's hashes. Only U admins and MFGG admins have access to hashes. This is why you should always use different passwords on forums. However I will say that after Mugen phished MFGG passwords once, I would not put it past him to take advantage of the hash database at his disposal.

Edit: But I will go back and reiterate that this is not something I can prove, so I can only give you advice to defend yourself on multiple fronts.

I can't see nightwing doing it..

A while back i could of seen mugen doing this, but not anymore.

So i don't think it was them.

Mugen and cutman are badmins. and before it was Mugen and Delmore.

And Every Official U member is a Moderator of the Den of Evil.

I see a pattern.

Delmore was kicked because of the whole not paying for pokémon incident..

And to keep two admins, Cutman was promoted.

My password is a mixture of letter and numbers, nobody has ever figured it out and i've been using it for years.

First "froggy" was an account accessed by, according to post style, the same person who then later accessed Smoke's account, who then sent a few PMs. Apparently they also changed his password.

I'm not saying this was him, but he sure as hell was instrumental in sparking the dupe craze at the U, and after his dupe school richly deserved a permaban anyway IMO.

I'm willing to dismiss Nightwing of any involvement. At this point I also don't think the U is the problem.
