Team Fortress 2, and my ideas for it

I think it's because they can see the people with hats, and these people that have hats find themselves superior and make an effort to rub it in others faces

Hats help with spychecking, but also allow you to be recognized (ie. 'there's the guy wearing the beanie who is good, better prioritize and get him quick'), and that's about it. The rest is just cosmetics which people seem to get obsessed with. While I had a veritable hatgasm after my 400 hours to get the Backbiter's Billycock, I doubt it's ever going to be as satisfying as then (and even if I do get more, Bill's Hat looks good enough on every class except spy IMO to eliminate all hat cravings).

They're also the ones that affect updates to Valve games the most.

I'd say they are. Most of the whining that goes on there is what you see in updates. Not all of that whining makes for bad updates, though.

every update has had bad points, but the Scout and Spy/Sniper updates were just down right awful.

Outside of introducing random drops, I must politely disagree.

Well all of my reasonings would probably just get replies like 'play better' or 'he mad' anyway.

Can only agree with the huntsman TBH, and that's only because of the dodgy hitboxes/instakill on anything 2 feet away with a single click. The other unlocks (bar razorback) changed playstyles for the better, and allowed a whole new way for sniper to be a credit to team.

As Lupo said though, the random drops system was sheer horror, and ruined the game until they gave out the milestones.

Now, the Classless Update.

That was awesome.

Even though I wasn't around when it came out.
