I think that the sniper's weapons should upgrade to:

Sniper Rifle:
Triple-Zoom Sniper
Adds three levels of scope zoom
Takes charged shots through the sniper

Sub-machine gun:
Rifle
Adds a crosshair
Takes away the scope (And with it, charging)

Kukri:
Boomerang
Adds the ability to throw the weapon (But it comes back)
Takes 30% damage


Cool that there's a demoman fro now though

i'd like a bigger clip sniper rifle with no charge so i can practice headshots and not feel like a tool when i bodyshot

ps my overall thoughts about this are that it'll either make the game way more interesting or break the hell out of it

pros: this could add some interesting variety!!
cons: this could introduce completely OP **** and break the game further!!!!

i hope there's weapons that do more damage agaisnt stunned enemies
and i get a weapon that stuns for the same class
massive op right there


So, will pistols be usable by both scout and engineer,for example? it'd be rad kicking ass as heavy with level 18 Shotgun and going battle engineer with the same boomstick

okay I'm suddenly having an idea here

even though it says "you can never re-aquire the weapon"

I think it's just talking about you won't have the same unique weapon or something but it is possible to get it again, it just won't have the exact same stats

e.g. you could have a force-a-nature or something with special extra stats, delete it, and re-aquire another force-a-nature but its stats won't be exactly the same


theoretically this makes much more sense and I'm sure everyone's already thought of it but I'd just like to announce that I found it out AREN'T I SPECIAL

**** the more I think about this the more hyped I am getting at how exactly it could all work out

If it ISN'T broken I'm thinking of some extreme variety in the overall playstyle of every class, without bending their roles too much but lending towards more unique ways to take on each class.

I mean, they already did attempt this by adding the unlockables to begin with, but I think what they're doing now intends to throw a ****ton more variety in that respect as well.

I mean, with only one set of unlockables you really only have two choices, but with all the new mix and match attribute possibilities I'm seeing chances for loads of different strategies.


Either that or game breaking god weapons.

i think that you'll only get one set of normal unlocks, though



like, the achievement weapns have unique gimmicks or something but i like your idea

just one thing I think they should add is the ability for servers to restrict leveled up weapons

I have a feeling that this sort of addition isn't going to be completely widely accepted if it changes the game way too much, or it can just add a really deep and unneeded level of complication which can be very offputting for new players

In the best case scenario, it won't unbalance things but rather just give people more viable choices for how they want to play each class.

I'm thinkin' better choices for people like battle medics, close range snipers, offensive engies, etc etc

yeah, tf2 is about knowing what you're fighting against and with, and what they;re using etc so if a minigun looks like a minigum with 2 per cent more damage, it'll confuse most newer players

i mean, they;re meant to know that a flamer is not a minigun, and that the shotgun is the same for everyone, that spys are sneaky, medics heal etc. too radical a difference will confuse people

irrelevant but
I wonder if you can name weapons you find.. It'd be fun to get weapons thought up by someone else (who i killed and stole from) and seeing what their take on it was.

Do what kind of stuff? Get cranky, argue a counterpoint against a misunderstood statement, and eventually post a begrudging apology? I'd guess because I got up too early, worked too long, and stayed up too late. Will try next time to keep any acidity to subversive remarks about the other party's logical fallacies next time though.

Back to the topic at hand, non-unique headgears also titillate my fancy.

am I the only one whose TF2 is suddenly lag fortress 2 because it keeps making huge freezes when I get ubered/teleport/sentry/death

I dunno why

also 50% chance of crit crash on startup

valve probably implemented weapon deletion because they're gonna put in a way for you to get your unlockables back

didn't they say something about moving away from earning unlockables through achievements

most likely wont implement any of them other than headgear
is they did, they would lose a lot of players. and they know that.
