Which one did you enjoy the most? smile.gif
I prefer the Sequel because of better graphics, cool music remixes, and nice CGI cutscenes. But the first one was kinda cool, too.

MvDK2 wasn't so much of a sequel as a spin-off. Sure, it had Mini-Marios, and it had Mario, and it had Donkey Kong, but it was completely different gameplay-wise.

I prefer the original, with the side-scrolling, back-flipping, button-pressing action and lovely graphics. Sure, MvDK2 had a level editor and pretty backgrounds and funny enemies, but they're too different to compare. They're both good in their own ways.

By the way, try beating the first room of Twilight City 6-2 without touching any direction-change switches. I did. cool2.gif

I only have the first game. And to be honest, I enjoy traditional Mario games more.

MVDK2 without a doubt. Not to mention about the possibilities of creating levels using other than the Mini-Mario toys. :P

My only gripe is that I wish I could use those other "mini-toys" in those main level sets instead of those ones that are exclusive to the said other mini-toys.

I'd like to point out that 100% speedruns of the original MvDK would truly be awesome to watch.

Not that I've seen any, though. sad.gif

ENDORSE

But Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2 for sure. It's quite a challenge sometimes, especially when you're trying to get that non-stop full chain with the Gold Mini multplier at the very end.

But the bosses could've been better.

But much of the music is awesome. I love the First World theme.

Even if they're all remixes, they're pretty nice. I can't believe they successfully remixed the SMB Castle theme! biggrin.gif

I can recognize all of them except World 3's song. What is it supposed to be from? :<

They're all remixes? I didn't know that... What does the World 1 remix?

World 3... Pipe Works, right? It might be a DK'94 remix, or something else.

World 1: Mario Toy Company I from first MvDK
World 2: DK Jungle I from first MvDK
World 3: no idea
World 4: classic underground theme
World 5: classic castle theme
World 6: Peach's Castle from SM64
World 7: Spooky House I from first MvDK
World 8: Jungle theme from DKC

Toad: See world 1
Peach: See world 6
DK: See world 8

And I suppose I should specify. Each world has three different tunes. The first, "A", is the original tune. The second tune "B" is a highly remixed version of the theme, to the point where it's sometimes unrecognizeable. The third tune "C" is a combination of both.

No, it's all the same tune. They just start at different points. Listen in the sound test for a little bit, see what I mean.

I don't mean to be a smartass, but I'm taking a wild guess that "Mini-Peach" sums up the reason for your preference of MvDK2 pretty accurately.

Huh. So it is. That's kinda weird.

Now it seems musically less impressive. :x

Kinda a waste of space, but I guess it gives a nice effect.
