Not all people think the same way we do, some people do have mental issues where they really don't think right, I really don't think it's right to mock people because of such things.

We know this

It just seems a little too... far.

It would probably be real helpful if we knew WHAT games he played on the computer.

Sad story, but at the same time, senseless and retarded.

As Ainsworth emphasized, it was his own fault for messing up in school.
Total nutcases like these drug-crazed video gaming kids are just becoming more and more common nowadays. And I thought Video Gaming was safe =/

To be honest, all this report says is that he committed suicide over getting banned of his computer and video games.

It does not say a word on anything mental about the kids mind or anything.

We really could use more information here in my opinion.

What I was going to say.

We all should be aware of the fact that articles, the news, etc. leave out important details.
Notice how it didn't really say much about his home life. All it mentioned was that some kid committed suicide after being restricted from the computer.

I, living with a family in which mental illness is very common, going through therapy myself for several years, actually having these tendencies, know that this kid could have been having social problems at school, or personal life issues, mental issues, or all of the above. I do not think that computer restriction was the only factor.

And I most certainly do not think that the child was a retard! Those posts kind of hurt me inside. =/

Ouch. I can't bring myself to feel sorry for the kid but I can't bring myself to say he had mental issues too - I mean he was ten years old.

So I really don't know. It's a saddening issue, really, but there isn't necessarily anybody to blame - things like this happen all the time and sometimes even go unnoticed.

But the fact remains that commiting suicide over getting grounded just couldn't cross anybody's head, one way or another.

To make a long story short: Parents and child are all retards.

The parents were retarded for not monitoring his time playing games. And for not making the kid study whether he liked it or not. As a parent myself, I know better. My kids don't get to do ANYTHING until their work is done first.

The kid was retarded for the sole reason that he offed himself because he got grounded. Big flippin' whoop. You can hardly get more emo than this right here. Kids get grounded. End of story. Either deal with it, or seek help.

But what's the media going to put the blame on? Video games. Why? Because the kid was an addict, and people NEED someone to blame. It just goes to show that one of the planet's favorite things to do is once again taking heat for some kid's stupidity.

Hm.. I turned a short story into a long one. Someone kick me out of Rant Mode, please?
