Super Princess Peach

"Not content with today’s Sony-centric blanket online coverage, Nintendo has cleared its throat in front of Famitsu, to announce a brand new DS title. Joining other cast members from Mario’s extended family (Wario, Luigi etc), Princess Peach is the latest character to get her own touch-screen enabled outing. Alas details are pretty scant on the ground at the moment, without even an indication of when it’s due for release.

What we do know, however, is that Super Princess Peach will be a 2D scrolling action game (featuring Princess Peach). She will also be armed with an umbrella with which to attack oncoming enemies. Putting two and two together, we can comfortably suggest that the player will use the stylus to swipe, stab and control the umbrella."

That's pretty funny, but it's also interesting at the same time.

I'd think this was weird if not for the fact that she was one of the best characters in Mario 2.

This game could be really awesome. Peach is a great character, she just needs more oppertunities to kick some ass and takes some names

Playing as Peach as a main character was something I thpught was only possible in fangames(won't mention which one(s))! Awesomeness!
I wonder if it will be hand drawn or 3d rendered graphics? I can't wait for it though!

Also, which Peach voice are we referring to? She's had tons, some ok, some bleh.

Reminds me of that Killer engine FanGuy made!!

Sounds good. Make enough games for DS that don't suck and I'll try to get it anyway, regardless of the many features I don't think any game should need. :O

Finally, Peach is gonna whoop Bowser's ass for all those years of kidnapping! You go, girl!

This is like the only time I have seen the stylus pad used in a way that wasn't stupid, and you can still do the same thing with less complexity with an analog control stick and some A and B buttons. :O

I say she should just talk like she does in PM and PM TTYD.

But seriously, I think she sould have some sound bite voices (You know, like in the Mario Advance games) or something like that.

I think a graphic style similar to Yoshi's Island would be great for this game. Backgrounds like scruffy kid's crayon/pencil/paints, with 2D hand-pixeled sprites and foreground stuff on top.

Yeah, that would nice to see. And I hope Peach can ride Yoshi...

Kinda makes me wonder about the storyline.
