Sure, you've already seen it on NCFC, but now you can see it on MFGG as well:
http://www.mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb&pa...02&c=2&id=12431

Discuss anything regarding the game here, be it simple comments/questions/compliments/criticisms, your favorite parts of the game, least favorite parts of the game, stuff that may have stood out to you, etc etc.

So far my utmost favorite aspect would be the... Camera. It is sometimes annoying as hell, but very smooth.

Oh, and the badass original levels...

And the three pegasi yoshi sisters.

We have Kyle to thank for the camera, although I tweaked it a bit to make it less jerky.

Glad you caught the reference! ...Of course, it was probably bloody obvious knowing me. ;P

You got to Showdown on the Bridge already? If so, I'm really glad to see you liked it. Especially considering it was personally my least favorite battle in the game, heh.

I have to say ThunderDragon, you pulled out one heck of a badass game there. I seriously felt like I was playing a official mario game at times, and the first world was absolutely spot-on. I am at world three, and I have to say, my favorite level so far was either the Bombshell hill, or Prism rock.

The camera is great, really smooth, and the level design is perfect. The graphics are excellent, it made me actually smile when I first saw it soveryhappy.gif.

Good job, this kind of game reminds me why I even come here.

It was? Well in my opinion it was the most fun, were did you get the enemy and boss sprites?

Most of them, I made and/or edited myself. I myself made each of the boss sprites, while the enemies were either made/edited by me, or pulled from MFGG.

Thanks for the comments, everyone! Keep 'em coming.

For the most part, I found the game really awesome when I wasn't reseting a beaten level by typing in another window and using backspace with it's camera and unique level concepts. I was a little disappointed by the fact you could get to the final secret level so easily, though, I kinda hoped I'd have to get all the previous world's Mushroom Coins because of what it was, y'know?

OH, and the song used for the final/final secret stage, what is that? I can't find it anywhere! I'll think of more to say later...

Heh, I should have taken the backspace thing into consideration. ^_^;;

As for the final secret level... I dunno, I just found it anticlimactic somehow, so I didn't want to make it the absolute last thing unlocked, although I did think about it at one point. Besides, I don't really consider the secret levels canon. Especially World 3's secret level, haha.

As for the midi used on the final stage, it is called crashincastle.mid if that helps any. I think I found it in the "new files" section of vgmusic.com, but I have no idea if it is still there or not.

Hey, old friend =) I've played the first 2 worlds so far, the best thing about this game is that it feels complete and it feels like a Mario game should, the level design, presentation, bosses & the way people talk to you all done very well. I think you really 'get' how Nintendo do things =)

Unfortunately I still haven't finished it, but I plan to do so within the next days.
However, I can say from what I've seen in the first two worlds (which aren't too short), that it really is fun to play.
You have an excellent level design, neat puzzles and a good replay value for the levels because of the hidden coin.
The engine is not as smooth as I'd expect it from a newer game, but it's smoother than I'd expect it from a game that was started 100 years ago like this one, so that also is very fine with me, especially since it seems to be glitchless to me.

You'll hear more from me once I finished it, but so far I guess it'll be a good 9/10 game, would have got 10/10 if released (way) earlier probably.

I too have dial-up, yet I was able to download files even larger than this. Just make sure you have some time to set aside.

9/10 is still a great score, so thanks!

Funny story there. When I first finished that boss, the difficulty was insane. As the game progressed, I kept going back to that boss, making it easier and easier (hey, it was only World 2), but even still it was very frustrating... and when a fangame is frustrating for the creator to play, that is not a good sign. Eventually, towards the end, I just changed around a few events, making the boss dramatically easier. It was tough getting it somewhere between too easy and too frustrating at that point (without reworking the whole thing), but I suppose I did my best. ;P

QUOTE

What's with everyone 'round here and sequels? Personally, I'd prefer to focus on something slightly more original, especially after being stuck on the same darn game for literally half a decade. ;P
(MarioQuest 3 is a "special case," thankyouverymuch.)

You should probably change that TSB Demo link in your sig XD

This is an excellent fangame, and for that, a winner is you.

And a plate of cookies.

I recognize your hard effort toward this, because the game is amazing. Every small special effect and transition gave it a realistic official feeling. The level design and graphics are flawless, and the music is beautiful. The engine is smooth and extremely nice. One of the greatest fangames on the internet, TD.

Amazing. Beat all of it over a three-day span.

I love it, although there's a couple things you might want to fix:
  • I got stuck in a wall a few times (I know where, but not why.)
  • Right wall of Muncher Mile can be walked right through. Not like there's anything behind there, but....
  • After you've beaten a level an you return back to it you can keep all your powerups and your life by hitting backspace after you die but before the 'Retry this level?' thing appears.
  • Mount Vulcan's boss level had a bunch of glitches that probably wouldn't be found unless you were looking for them, but:
  • You can swim both under and over the swimming areas (allowing you to go to go straight to the last pipe from the first.
  • And if you swim off and to the left of the first area there you'll find a pipe which if you go overtop of you'll get the 'Congratulations' message and then be sent back to the main world. Odd.
All in all though, it was very well done. I loved the bosses, and the level design was amazing 98% of the time. Keep up the good work.
