I have to say ThunderDragon, you pulled out one heck of a badass game there. I seriously felt like I was playing a official mario game at times, and the first world was absolutely spot-on. I am at world three, and I have to say, my favorite level so far was either the Bombshell hill, or Prism rock. The camera is great, really smooth, and the level design is perfect. The graphics are excellent, it made me actually smile when I first saw it . Good job, this kind of game reminds me why I even come here.

| QUOTE (Someguy @ Oct 29 2007, 09:15 PM) | For the most part, I found the game really awesome when I wasn't reseting a beaten level by typing in another window and using backspace with it's camera and unique level concepts. I was a little disappointed by the fact you could get to the final secret level so easily, though, I kinda hoped I'd have to get all the previous world's Mushroom Coins because of what it was, y'know?
OH, and the song used for the final/final secret stage, what is that? I can't find it anywhere! I'll think of more to say later... |
Heh, I should have taken the backspace thing into consideration. ^_^;;
As for the final secret level... I dunno, I just found it anticlimactic somehow, so I didn't want to make it the absolute last thing unlocked, although I did think about it at one point. Besides, I don't really consider the secret levels canon. Especially World 3's secret level, haha.
As for the midi used on the final stage, it is called crashincastle.mid if that helps any. I think I found it in the "new files" section of vgmusic.com, but I have no idea if it is still there or not.

| QUOTE | | Waaah! I want it! Stupid Dial-up. The demo was awesome, and I want to see how the full version turned out. |
I too have dial-up, yet I was able to download files even larger than this. Just make sure you have some time to set aside.
| QUOTE | | Hey, old friend =) I've played the first 2 worlds so far, the best thing about this game is that it feels complete and it feels like a Mario game should, the level design, presentation, bosses & the way people talk to you all done very well. I think you really 'get' how Nintendo do things =) |
=)
| QUOTE | | so far I guess it'll be a good 9/10 game, would have got 10/10 if released (way) earlier probably. |
9/10 is still a great score, so thanks!
| QUOTE | | I thught the second boss was easier than the first boss. |
Funny story there. When I first finished that boss, the difficulty was insane. As the game progressed, I kept going back to that boss, making it easier and easier (hey, it was only World 2), but even still it was very frustrating... and when a fangame is frustrating for the creator to play, that is not a good sign. Eventually, towards the end, I just changed around a few events, making the boss dramatically easier. It was tough getting it somewhere between too easy and too frustrating at that point (without reworking the whole thing), but I suppose I did my best. ;P
| QUOTE | | Any chances of a sequel? |
What's with everyone 'round here and sequels? Personally, I'd prefer to focus on something slightly more original, especially after being stuck on the same darn game for literally half a decade. ;P (MarioQuest 3 is a "special case," thankyouverymuch.)
