Translation: I don't really understand. It's supposed to be easy. Maybe I'll make a quick Mario game with it.

If you don't understand, there are a lot of tutorials on the main site, and you can always head back to Clickteam. Their support forum is pretty decent.

Supposed to be easy? What the heck do you expect?! When you're game programming in ANYTHING, it's no walk in the park.

The help files included with them are useful. Read them. If anything, TGF and MMF are easier than Gamemaker.

TGF is deadly easy, MMF's difficulty is figuring out where the options are.

Start from TGF and move up. It's the one way you'll know what you're doing when you finally use MMF.

No. Seriously. Don't start with TGF if you plan to move to MMF. Moving from TGF to MMF is MUCH harder than starting out with MMF.

How would you know? You would have had to do either one or the other.

Anyway, if you're really serious about making games, go ahead and buy MMF (MMF 1.5, if you can). If not, download the trial verison of TGF, then upgrade. But seriously, once you're used to MMF, you'll never want to go back.

Unless you happen to be using MMF 1.2...

How would you know?

Because I started out with TGF and getting used to MMF was hell.

Their setups are completely different. It's much easier on a person to start and stay with one or the other.

Same here. It took a little doing to figure out some stuff, but it eventually worked out fine for me as well.

TGF isn't easier in all respects. Its limits will overcomplicate some tasks.

It only takes a few days to get used to MMF's interface anyway, and then it's really no harder to use. It's just a stylistic preference. After using it for so long I'm alienated by TGF's interface.

Try switching to Game Maker, that is the most simple Game Making tool I've ever used.
