Here's a small new demo of my game that let's you try out the multiplayer and play as Luigi, Wario ,and Waluigi, it also has a bunch of other tweaks to the the engine like the ability to pick up enemies when they are stunned as well as other players. Critique would be appreciated.

Controls:

P1:
Arrow Keys-Move
Shift(right)-Jump
Ctrl(right)-Dash/Pick Up

P2:
WASD-Move
Shift(left)-Jump
Ctrl(left)-Dash/Pick Up

P3:
Joystick1 Pad-Move
Button1-Jump
Button2-Dash/Pick Up

P4:
Joystick2 Pad-Move
Button1-Jump
Button2-Dash/Pick Up

R-Restart game
F4-Full screen

*If only one player is using the keyboard you can use both PI and PII controls.

This is a really great clone. My only criticisms are that:
  • Mario runs perhaps a little to fast for my personal taste.
  • If you're copying the first level layout, make that middle platform jumpable.
  • Make it either bigger or fullscreenable

Also, you don't need to say the game is property of Nintendo, just the characters.

other than this the game is awesome and I can't wait for the finsihed project

It's really nice. It controls a little too stiffly, I think... like when you want to start moving the opposite direction. But perhaps this is just me. It also felt a bit busy on the second level (didn't play past that), so maybe spreading out the enemies a bit more would help.

It looks nice and plays nice. I hope you finish it. :]

It's pretty good. I agree on the stiffy-nes, but the screen size seems ok.

This is really good, I like the engine. Really liked it. Listen to what I say: DO NOT
CHANGE THE ENGINE. It is perfect, I normally don't say this, but that felt ... really
good to play. The stiffness made it feel crisp and clean, plus it felt good to kick
those spineys as fast as you could. Good job, it almost felt professional. biggrin.gif

Well the phases don't take a lot of work to make so I'll have a whole bunch in the the final game. There is a boss in phase 10 and 2 bonus levels right now, those take a little more effort than the regular levels.

As for the first level music, its from Mario Paint for the SNES.

Kinda a massive bump.

Anyway the game feels too linear tbh
I know that the classic Mario Bros. was linear as hell but that shouldn't stop you from spicing it up
Sure you did that with the few minigames, but I didn't reach that far before I got bored

Found a bug (see attachment)

This happened on the world 2. Right after the red coins bonus.
The enemy got STUCK in that pipe. I was not able to defeat it. It wouldn't move anywhere. I tried the [POW] block but that did not work either.

I remember this (pretty hard to forget a game one has reviewed) and really liked it. I think that the next phase should depend on how (well) you completed the last one (under certain time limit, without dieing etc...).

Multiplay? That's very cool.

EDIT: Bumping your old topic is allowed, if you update your game, not just beg for attention.
