Just thought I'd share with you a (fairly) old Mario Engine I made.

There are two versions, a simple one, with easy concepts, and an advanced one, with kinda harder things like slopes and De-activation. The code may be a bit hard for newbies in the latter but commenting is fairly explanatory.

Screenies! Keep in mind that this is not a game; graphics are secondry. Anyways, hopefully you'll find this helpful. laugh.gif

well this is pretty nice :D




only thing is that when you grab that 1-up it doesn't seem to add on when you restart, so it seems like you loose two of them when you die

I tried this...it's nice, of course it could be fixed on some parts such as the "health-bar".
It's a great base to start a game, great job.

As someone that's been here since 2003, I still find that amazing. Even in 2006 I was trying to coax someone to submit the first GameMaker howto to the site, with no luck until they finally started showing up in the summer.

No. I used it long before 6 came out, and I know it better so its easier to use.
Plus 4.3 games dont run in 6 for some reason.
