So what happened, you may ask

Alright those of you just logging on are probably wondering what the hell is going on, so here's something of an official announcement about it.

Here's a TL;DR version:
- Jas and Yoshiman are admins now.
- Joey and Trasher are no longer mods
- PPP is temporarily closed. It'll re-open soon I promise.
- RII's got a shiny new "Server Admin" group, won't be handling bans anymore but will stay to work on techie stuff

Basically, I felt that the mod team was in need of some serious re-working. We weren't seeing eye to eye about some things, and there was a lot of internal drama. Because of this we often argued about things more than we actually made decisions, and I thought it was making the forum stagnate and suck even more. I know a lot of you also disagreed with some bans and stuff, and I've been listening to that and have been trying to decide for a long time what to do about it.

It kind of came to a head earlier tonight, and although I knew it'd probably cause drama I decided the best thing to do would be to make some changes in the mod team. If no action is taken stuff will always be the same, right?

TD also made Jas and Yoshiman admins, because initially RII left his admin post as well. Yeah, lots of drama went down tonight I'm afraid.

RII's no longer a forum admin, and stepped down of his own accord. However, although he won't be dealing with bannings and the like any more, he's going to continue to stay here and help with the stuff he usually helps with (god I'm eloquent). Can't say I blame him for not wanting to deal with board politics, but I'm glad he's staying on board to help with the technical side of things. So don't worry, he's not going to stop paying for the server and send everyone a supervirus or anything.

Now because of all this drama I closed the PPP for a few days. I'm not doing this to punish anyone or anything like that, and I'm sorry if anyone's upset about it. I post there pretty regularly myself, so I know it's a place to goof off. I just felt that in lieu of all of this, if it wasn't closed for a bit, then there would be a ton of topics, a ton of misinformation and a ton of drama. At the time I closed it down there was already, like...a page of topics about all this. Anyway, it's only closed temporarily and will reopen soon. Probably not much longer than a day or two, we'll see.

I guess that's pretty much it, we'll see how things go from here. I'll leave this thread open as long as it stays civil.

This is all to much to take in in one go. I mean, RII not being an admin? All of this will have to take some getting used to.

I am happy with the decisions made and hope the forum can only improve from here on out. It's a long road but one we need to make the effort to travel. Now us members need to put forth the effort as the admins have.

A little suprised to see this, although I must admit: should work out quite well. Good decisions, as I can't really see why this isn't a bad choice.

As for RII stepping down, a little suprised. But actually, I somewhat expected it to happen sooner or later.

What, Kins and Joey de-modded? That's crazy. So they had fun doing their job, but they actually enforced the forum rules, which is something the people on MFGG weren't used to.

Lemme guess, user name changing? Big angry mob of "popular" people wanting their way?

well... It is sort of a problem when you ban someone for saying "Totally rad." and consider it flaming :X

Well, no, it's not flaming, but it's still asshattery all the same, the same brand of which has been polluting the boards.

Poor Joey.

Nothing of the sort - basically a complete lack of communication and a total inability to see eye-to-eye. Which is reason enough for a shake-up, really.

I'll probably make no effort to get my old spot back, as I've probably burnt at least one bridge. I've talked with Klobber and there's no hard feelings, so hopefully things will sort themselves out.

The context it was used in wasn't very nice. To say something like that about a country about to be hit with a tidal wave - one that could cause a lot of property damage, as well as injure or kill people - is just not right.

2. I'm so sad to see you guys go. I know most people didn't like your way of handling things but it was for the betterment of MFGG. But hey, if it didn't work, a change of scheme is what we need.
