So some people (or many or whatever you want to say) think MFGGs got some problems.

And yeah, we could have some huge discussion over what the problems are and whatever, but that's not going to get us any solutions.

So yeah, lets see what you guys think MFGG should do.

Try not to have things like "nothing," "*whoever* for mod," or flame-type stuff.

I'd like to see some productive stuff here.

They don't have to be things that only the admins can do or whatever, since this topic is more or less geared toward the community.

So what do you guys think will solve the issues (or whatever you'd call them) we have now?

I thought about that too, I think'd it'd be interesting to see the PPP with an entrance post count limit.

I'd give a sort of incentive for people to use the other boards more, even after they get the posts they need to get in, they'd feel more at home in the other boards as well.

Maybe 50 is a little too low though?

yes i really like this idea of selective PPP entrance

i'd go so far as to suggest someone to accept or reject PPP access, but then you'd have to account for bias and i honestly don't think anyone would want that job

It would stuck if people posted and posted for the sake of posting JUST to get in the PPP. I'm sure there would be a way to make sure this wouldn't happen, though. But it's still a possibility.

50 would be slightly too low. 300 or so would be more suitable?

But yes, good idea overall. Could prevent alot of continuing spamming members and prevent more conflicts.

No PPP without 50 sounds fine, but the new members shouldn't have the idea that getting to the PPP will be a big accomplishment.
It should say just in the PPP's description or something: "No entrance until 50 posts," and that's it.

I like the entrance post idea.
People who post JUST for the PPP might need to at least contribute something else...

yeah that'd be a really difficult job, IMO i think a post limit would be fine.

it'd also deter a bunch of dupes (or they would post stuff in general chat)
of course, that could also be solved by requiring members to make a few posts in a particular board (maybe general chat, possibly one of the fangaming boards) in order to get access to the rest of the board. however, that may be too much.

This.

Not to mention, if we ever got dupes, they'll be putting everything into the GC now, as opposed to the much less serious PPP.

Well yeah, that's why I think it should be a larger number.

It should be big enough to scare away people who join just for PPP lulz.

Rath! doesn't have a bad idea with the selective PPP posters thing, but I think we'd end up with one stressed out admittance guy and a bunch of potentially good PPP guys who simply wouldn't even bother with it since they'd have to go through a bunch of trouble just to get in.

Also, new members should be able to view the ppp, as it both provides incentive and is less of a turnoff if one of their friends IMs them a link to a funny thread or something and they can view it.

That's what I was thinking about. Basically, we don't make it sound like the PPP is an accomplishment. If the new members don't think it's anything great, then they won't care about getting into it.

I think we should have another mod for the PPP, lots of stuff goes on there that relatively goes unnoticed.

Yeah, I agree.

I've linked nonmembers and such to PPP topics before and it would be a bit of a hassle to get them to see some silly thing.

The members themselves need to behave and stop complaining. If fangames were still the central theme of this message board and everyone was mature and civilized, people would be co-operating and working together, rather than flaming each other and spamming the forums with pornography and excessive duping.

Guidelines won't do anything if members choose not to follow them. You guys to to take a stand and realize what is acceptable material to be discussed and posted on this message board.

I would really want admin notification, but to manage all those new members, it all just sounds like a bad idea.
