I have most of it set-up, but I can't get my DS to find the IP of it, so I can't get Wi-Fi. It says 'Automatic Private Address' for it's type. Is there anyway to change it?

What are you trying to set up.

Common IP addresses for wireless routers (depending on config) are:
192.168.2.1
192.168.0.1

It's a Wi-Fi max thingy-ma-jigger. I have all of it set up, except for the fact it says Automatic Private Address, so it won't let my DS find it. When it didn't show it, it worked once, then switched again.

Do you have the DS browser? If you do, you could go to "whatismyip.com" and find out your DS's IP. Or, I could setup my site to have $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']. If you don't, then I can't help you.

No, not even close, so my DS doesn't have an IP. I was thinking I could adjust the IP given by the DHCP settings to make it public, but I don't have a clue on how to do that.

What are you trying to do on wifi? I could help if you tell me.

I'm simply trying to get on. It won't connect because it can't find the IP. But, I have another option. I know how to manually configure the controls on the computer and DS, but when I do that, it says 'There is an IP conflict with another system on the network' on the computer and gives me 'Connected to access point but unable to connect to server' on the DS.

Ah, you're using a computer cable? Then I can't help you there. However, I think that when you use one, the computer and the DS become one, and share an IP.

It could just be that your router has some firewall settings on. Think you can explaine one more time exactly what happens?

Yeah, have it unlocked at the settings with the friend code approved on the ZDWan settings. I'll check the firewall as well. For what happens, two things; either it's given a private IP automaticly, or if I set it up, the IP conflict messgae prevents me from getting to the server.

Usually the conflicting IP means that another computer has the same IP. Have you tried using different IP adresses?

Well, I might be doing it wrong. It set an IP on th router, and enter the same thing on the DS. Then when I try to connect, it coflicts with the computer.

Well, I might be doing it wrong. It set an IP on th router, and enter the same thing on the DS. Then when I try to connect, it coflicts with the computer.

your router should automatically assign an IP to your DS on a successful connection, so you should have auto-obtain IP on

your router must also use 128-bit WEP key encryption because the DS refuses to support anything else; this means you have to copy 128 characters into your DS to set up your connection buuuuttt

Also, the router rarely gets .1, I've never noticed this phenomenon on the five-or-so routers I've used; mine always, always, goes *.*.254.254.

(on a windows machine, you can usually run a command prompt and type ipconfig to find your router's IP)

As for conflicting IP, that of course means you tried to connect with an IP assigned to another computer. I don't think this will work no matter what you do, so set up the DS as a separate entity on the network
