So the forum rules have been modified, if you haven't noticed. We are now on version 5.0. Please see the rules for the changes, I advise re-reading them now.

Also, please read the following. This will change MFGG for the better if you all abide by it.

MFGG has had problems recently, if it hasn't become obvious. We've had conflicts, a lot of "e-drama," and internal situations in the administration and moderation. We want to iron things out, so that this community becomes great, and what it's supposed to be - a community where members contribute to it, and also where members contribute to the site via fangame-related items. In order to do that, we in the administration have been doing a lot more communication and discussing to make things better in that sector.

But we can't do it alone. We need you guys, as members as well. It's not supposed to be the master admins and mods peering and looming down on the slave members. That's not the correct structure of a forum. A message board is supposed to be a admin-mod-member connection. We need you guys to help us help you. Therefore, in order to do that, we want you to read these expectations and abide by them. These will help the community, and if you guys meet these expectations, then we can meet ours, and the community will be increasing in quality.

1. Keep communication open between you and the admins/mods. If you have a problem with the structure of the forum, a punishment, or some other issue, DO NOT POST ABOUT IT IN THE FORUM. That's one cause of all the "drama" that occurs. If you PM an admin/mod about an issue, then we can fix the mistake, or inform you about the problem. If you post about it on the forum, that causes a huge commotion in the crowd of members.

2. We are all humans. There's a problem, not just in this forum, but every message board and the internet in it's entirety. Anonymity causes people to become selfish, rude, completely sarcastic, and able to post whatever they can without worry of the other person actually doing something about it. This is not good for a message board, this isn't how we form a good community. This is something that can separate us from other forums. Realize that your comments can hurt someone online as much as they can in real life. This is a huge factor of the problems on this forum, and members need to eliminate being so down-hard with each other.

3. Self control is a good thing. This is another big factor of the issues in this forum. Self-control, on a forum, is stopping yourself from doing something stupid and relaxing it a bit. This needs to be used a lot on this forum. Some members appear to have no self-control, and get such a temper/get so angry that they reply immediately to someone saying something they call stupid, without giving themselves a chance to wait a few minutes, to relax, mellow, and then coming up with an intelligible reply. Don't do this, members need to learn self-control, it solves a lot of issues on here. Another way to help learn self-control, and to solve problems, is given in expectation #4.

4. Ignorance is actually a good tool. This is quite possibly the biggest thing members don't use that causes problems on this forum, along-side with #2. Members feel that they have to reply to someone that's attacked them or is purposely enticing their anger (whom always seems to deny that they're enticing the member's anger) for some reason. The biggest reason is mostly pride and/or reputation. Screw it. Abandon pride. You're only making that and your reputation worse by continuing arguing with someone in an argument that will never even be solved. Ignore the user, it solves it almost all the time. Even if the other member decides to say something immature to the effect of "oh, how immature of you to ignore me, good job, etc etc," ignore it. Attacking/arguing back will only make things worse.

5. Common Sense, Common Sense, Common Sense. Every human has common sense. But some of you members appear to lack it completely. This is already addressed in rule #7, but I want to enforce it here. If something feels wrong, it most likely is. So don't do it. This is something that some members here apparently haven't gotten a grasp on, and you need to. You can't go living every day attempting to find the loose hole in rules, otherwise you'd be in a court room your entire life. Just the same, you can't post every day attempting to find the loose hole in the rules, you'd just be stuck with naming tedious problem after problem that shouldn't even be identified anyways. Just go about your business of posting safely, rather than being sorry about it later.

As I've said, if you guys can meet these expectations, that'd be great. We'll already have a better, safer and fun community. We as admins and mods are also improving our standards; from being the dark terrors of the night, to the assisting team for you guys, while simultaneously being the judicial sector of this message board, assigning punishments to members to help them learn what not to do. That's essentially the role of the administration and moderation in a message board. Hopefully, this will help change the attitude of this whole forum, and we'll thrive as a great community!

Thanks for your help!

self control is a keen element in this situation.

Actually, not really, there's been more than one instance of it.

Is the PPP affected by the "Don't Bump Topics" rule or not, as it wasn't really a problem if someone bumped a topic there?

I don't think as of this point it's been decided on whether or not there is going to be a PPP. There were talks going on I heard.

Correct. It's up in the air right now.

As for bumping in the PPP if/when it comes back, I think it's fine as long as the topic is still relevant.

You realize most of the problem members aren't going to read this anyway, right?

Anyway, self control is a definite problem for me, and I shall do my best to curb it.
