ATTENTION - REGARDING NAME CHANGES, New Policy Introduced

Alright, I'll just be frank right up and ahead here. Name changes are extremely tedious and unnecessary. We're all sick and tired of seeing them, and eventually confusing members of who each of us are. So we're introducing a new policy now.



- The only time you are approved for a name change is the first time. If you have made a spelling mistake, do not think the name is appropriate, generally dislike the name you chose, or some other error, you have one chance to change your name. This name will be your final, permanent one. After that, you will no longer be able to change your name.


So, now most of you that are here right now are thinking "... well, crap, I've bypassed that first time about 16 times now, now I can't change my name back to something good/whatever excuse I come up with." Not to worry. We're making this fair.


We're giving all current members one chance to change their name. It does not have to be immediate, heck, it doesn't even have to be for another 3 years if you wish. But all current members will be given one opportunity to change their name into a more suitable one, or whatever they may choose. Please realize that this is ONE opportunity. Once you choose the name, you will no longer be able to change it after that.

Whenever you are ready, PM an admin, for now, either me or Jas. We will change your name, and then it will be logged in a new section on the Name Change log topic in the News Forum.

So I'm going to ask the question others might wanna ask... Does the time limit from the previous policy still stand? Or can they go choose their final name right now?

Also, can this go in the news forum? =)

Good question. Because we're not doing constant name changes anymore, the three-month policy is gone, they can apply for a name change anytime.

As for your edit, I want to keep it in the GC as a sticky for a little while, and then move it to the News Forum.

They've been here since '01/'02 and their names haven't changed since.

I've been debating whether to drop the numbers or not. I'll probably wait though.

i don't really like the "your last name change EVER" idea, but it would help with name change chaos... and i can't think of a better idea myself

though i've kept this name for 2 years and i can't think of a better one now, so
