ATTENTION - REGARDING NAME CHANGES, New Policy Introduced

you actually can do that in real life, and it's annoying, just like on the internet

Personally, I think if it's along the lines of just getting your name shortened, then it shouldn't count as an actual namechange. However, if you want your name changed completely, then it'd count.

But because of the current rules in effect, I've been wanting to shorten the "Nicholas" in my name to "Nick", but I'm just going to save my namechange in case something else comes along and I decide to go by that.

Name changes are stupid.

Yeah I don't think changing your name to something shorter or a nickname for the current name that actually is similar to the name should count as a name change- yeah its the same process, but its less confusing for everyone and honestly its not a big deal to change a name.

While this is still here, I think that name changes shouldn't be one-chance; maybe a year's wait or so?

because if you're going to go by your changed name for at least a year or so, it should be obvious who you are by your sig, posts, posting style, etc

i mean if i change my name to Dexter no one's going to think HOLY **** WHO'S THAT

it wouldn't really be that hard. heck, i'd do it. it's easy, i've done it on message boards before :P
