they look good, but maybe tone the shading down a bit, make it a little simpler

it'll make the outlines look a little more harsh, which is good

Proof that this project ain't dead. Also, heads up!

Not bad looking, though the HUD for the numbers is a way too tight and cramped (especially the score counter, I mean Jesus). Perhaps widen the backing of those HUD's a little bit?

Other than that though it looks good so far, good luck!

as it's been said, fix the score counter, but change the lives around too. possibly put it close to the lifebar and eliminate the backing on it. it could just be

Even changing the pallete might work, I'm not sure, it just doesn't look right to me.

Why not just replace the number on the life circle counter thing with the number of lives left.

There's no point having a number there if you already have a pie chart counter thing.

That might get confusing, however. I wouldn't do that.

Maybe a brief code at the beginning of a session that turns the health meter into a 1-Up Shroom temporarily and displaying the lives over that, that could work quite well.
