1. Call Megaman whatever you like. I like X better anyway.
2. I'll be drinkin' coco. I don't do alcohol.
3. If Geno indeed counts as a second party character (thus not a third party char), why not let him in too. He's not one of my favorites, but the more, the merrier.
By the way, why shouldn't CAPCOM approach Sakurai and ask him to add Megaman? The guys who made Metal Gear did that too for Snake.

Well, maybe if Capcom is coming out with a new megaman soon they'd ask. Since it was sorta a good move for Konami to help promote MGS4, and all the other ones in general.
SMRPG was published by Nintendo and Sqaure but developed by square solo with Myamoto guiding them on parts. much liek how Fire Emblem was developed by Intelligent Systems yet published by Nintendo and this in SSBM and now SSBB :)

Except Intelligent Systems is an internal part of Nintendo, not only making development tools, but was branched off of R&D1. Furthermore, up until Fire Emblem... 4 I believe, Gunpei Yokoi himself produced. It's as much a Nintendo game as Super Mario Land.
