So I'm reading reveiws of the Hitman movie

ffff This movie is worse than the Resident Evil ones.

Why the hell does EVERY video game movie have to suck? Even the ones that actually COULD be turned into a good movie? *coughsilenthilllcough*

im going to see it anyway, even if im dissapointed [which i usually am not]
it takes a really crap film to dissapoint me.

Reviewers know NOTHING.

True. They said Spiderman 3 was good.

true. They only like a certain type of film, and anything outside of that category is complete and utter bull rear product.

If a movie based on a video game can't be good to the average moviegoer, than whats the point?

I don't understand why the hell everyone likes the Resident Evil movies. They turned a classic horror game into a bad action movie with even worse actors and crap zombies.

Every time they turn a game into a movie, the general feeling I get is that
1. The directors have little to no respect for the source material
2. Even if they do, they obviously don't respect it enough to NOT butcher the plot

Hell, the only good video game movie I ever saw (Mortal Kombat) was most likely entirely a fluke that it turned out good. Hell, look at the sequel.

bearing in mind that it was still the worst reviewed Spider-Man movie yet

RE2 tried to be faithful to the source. A little bit. Honestly. Its on the DVD.

i fell asleep 20 minutes into that movie

Lets be faithful to the source by making a bunch of crappy action scenes, making nemesis look like crap, and completely disregarding the horror element of the games!

I hear the general concensus is that it's alright, but you have to know the Hitman.

That's about as much bs as the Silent Hill movie only being good to fans of the game

If your video game movie can't be a good movie in general, than what's the point?

SM told me that they don't elaborate on the character very much, so you have to come in knowing his background.

from what I've read, the story is very incoherent in the movie.

Oh, and random cuts here and there that were directed by some other guy.

I think the Silent Hill movie would have been a lot better simply by not using so many damn computer effects all over everything. I was watching the "making of" featurette on the dvd and realized that those lifeless-looking CGI monsters were actually people in costumes, and the costumes actually looked really cool and scary. It's too bad that they had to slap so many computer "enhancements" on them that you couldn't actually see how neat the costumes looked in the movie.


Of course, the script could have used a little work as well.

i don't know about any of these other things, and i've never played a silent hill game in my life (shoot me 8D), but i actually liked the movie. o_o i didn't find it amazing, but... i dunno, i guess i'm biased because i liked seeing a girl get her fleshed ripped off by a giant. maybe it didn't follow the game as much as it should, but all in all, i didn't think it was a genuinely bad movie.

and i liked spiderman 3, excluding the ending! -prepares for her death-

Oh definitely.

My biggest complaint was the unwarrented and random changes to the story.

1. Making the main character female.
2. Changing random names
3. Adding monsters that don't need to be there (Pyramid Head)
4. Removing two important character (Kaufmann and Lisa)
5. Trying to make Dahlia look like a saint
6. Adding in all those extra dumb-as-hell villagers, when in the game there were maybe five people left in the whole town, and most people that were in the town
weren't part of the "Cult" anyhow.
7. Getting rid of the whole Valtiel story and replacing it with witch burning (what?)

It would've made a better movie had they actually followed the story a bit.

It was better than the RE movies only in the sense that it actually knew that it was supposed to be a horror game.

I strongly suggest playing the games if you liked the movie.

The scene with the nurses in the hospital WAS really cool though. They were just like the game nurses. :D
